She is living proof to the old quote "behind every great man is a great woman." Jackie wouldn't have been able to endure what he did without Rachel Robinson. Much respect to you and your husband Mrs. Robinson!!
+carbajal8283 I understand what you're saying. When I was at French Class in High School there was a saying on the wall (In French) saying "Look for The Woman behind The Successful Man". How appropriate that My Teacher in French had to be A Woman. It was just too bad that we could not see Jackie Robinson play when the Dodgers came to Los Angeles in 1958. Being from Pasadena and playing College Baseball at UCLA, Robinson would have come home. He retired two years before that. Is Rachel Robinson still living in Los Angeles today?
I think she's still living in LA. I have nothing but respect and admiration for the Robinson family. The way Jackie handled all the adversity was nothing short of a miracle. But Rachel was his rock and if it wasn't for her, who knows how he would've handled it all. She's pure class.
Absolutely she is truly a great woman a woman of strength she endured as much racism n backlash as Jackie being his wife she had to b his biggest supporter
I admire her as much as I do Jackie. She had one of the hardest jobs. Building Jackie back up after the incessant abuse he took on and off the field. Bless this woman and RIP 42.
There are still many, many barriers to tear down in America. However, I pray that God doesn't move the mountain, just that He give me strength to climb it.
I remember reading where Rachel was also carefully vetted by the organization. The response was, “If Jackie Robinson is good enough for Rachel Robinson, he’s good enough for the the Major Leagues.”
I can definitely see why Jackie Robinson had the strength to handle what he did after listening to his wife. She most certainly had an awful lot to do with it.
NO ONE MENTIONS IT BUT RACHEL IS FKN AMERICAN HERO LIKE THE HERO'S OF THE REVOLUTION. SHE IS LADY LIBERTY INCARNATE. WE LOOOOOOOOOVE YOU MRS. ROBINSON. THANK YOU. AMERICA OWE'S THIS WOMAN AND JACKIE ROBINSON EVERYTHING SINCE 1947
Just as soon as thts video starts look how sharp Mrs Robinson memory of how Jackie Robinson started his basketball career in baseball frm the segregation of the negro league to the national league big change in those days thank you Mrs Robinson for keepin his legacy alive 💯
From Roger Kahn's "The Boys of Summer" _After we moved up [to Connecticut], there was one clue to when he was upset, when things had gone particularly badly. He'd go out on the lawn with a bucket of golf balls and take his driver and one after another hit those golf balls into the water._ _Robinson sat up. His eyes grew merry. "The golf balls were white", he said."_

Beautiful and classy Lady!
What a remarkable human being she is. She impressed me when I saw her in Ken Burns' "Baseball" documentary. Rachel Robinson is a credit to humankind.
Love to hear this woman speak. I have one of her books.
I remember reading where Rachel was also carefully vetted by the organization. The response was, “If Jackie Robinson is good enough for Rachel Robinson, he’s good enough for the the Major Leagues.”
SHE'S STILL BEAUTIFUL - EVEN IN HER EIGHTIES... - WOW - SHE COULD EASILY PASS FOR BEING TWENTY (20) YEARS - YOUNGER
