There are about a half dozen songs on The Wall that can be stand alone songs, ones that are played on the radio: Another Brick in the Wall pt2, Mother, Young Lust, Hey You, Comfortably Numb, and Run Like Hell. The album The Wall is an absolute masterpiece that I very highly recommend listening to all the way through. 🤘🏽💗
If you know anything about Pink Floyd's classic albums... their big four from the 70s, you know that most of the songs blend seamlessly into one another. Trying to play them track by track digitally is going to get you these abrupt sometimes jarring cut-offs. These are concept albums designed to be played all the way through from beginning to end or at the very least several tracks at a time in order to take you on a journey. I would highly recommend that for this album "The Wall" in particular, considered by many their finest work, but also their deepest most cohesive conceptual effort. The production and soundscapes are extraordinary throughout. It plays almost like a movie. In fact it was adapted into a full length movie a few years later. November 30th of this year marks the 45th anniversary of "Pink Floyd's The Wall" album, released in 1979. It is there a best-selling album next to "Dark Side of the Moon", and remains the biggest selling double album of all time. Might be a perfect excuse to take the journey.
