  • I picked this up well over a year ago off Facebook Marketplace the seller had no idea what it really was but was gonna make it into a sculpture .
Thankfully couldn't get a design that was going to work for him and I bought it for $50
I soon realised it was missing a major part of it and I didn't have the necessary tools to make this part
So I purchased a 3D printer then I discovered I had to learn how to use CAD to design the missing parts
buy a Propane Furnace to sandcast the parts, with lots of failures and a big learning process
I chose the Devil Forge because of its reputation and could melt up to 10 kgs big shout out to @chrispyskiwiadventures3583 and @bigstackD for helping set up the forge
Then I had trouble breaking up the aluminium parts so I bought a bandsaw to make things safer.
Then I had to buy A printer and Cricut maker then I spent about a month trying to learn how to use everything to get this one video done.
I purchased all these tools out of my own money none of this is sponsored.
I have walked away from some restoration projects because of missing parts now I have all this equipment I can confidently restore a lot more intricate things.
In my research of this vacuum sweeper, there doesn't seem to be many about.
Thanks to www.ferrymead.org.nz/ for letting me film the Doty Manufacturing Company Vacuum Sweeper in Curragh cottage
Now the Restoration is complete the video is done any museums in New Zealand would like this please get in touch.
(ps just picked up another restoration project weighs 200 pounds mostly made of brass, 600k round trip. look forward to showing you guys when it's finished and delivering it back to Museum to see their response).

The antiques you find are so freaking cool and unique, and you are a truly awesome craftsman. I can't believe you have so few subscribers, and all the fake restorers out there have 10 times more followers, although they are full of BS.
    You're so underrated it's insane

I was intrigued from the get-go as I had never seen a vacuum cleaner this old. And it just got better from there! You demonstrated so many cool skills (save for the gas pipe bit🤔) - aluminium casting, metal fabrication, label making, 3D printing (but my mind was officially blown by the 3D printer PRINTER!!!🤯). Plus the shot of your sweet ride was bonus joy (very cherry!). Thank you for taking the time to film this restoration - it was so enjoyable all the way through. Onya Mate👍

When I was 17 me and my older brother would help out at this guys 30 car storage unit where he kept a collection of his vintage American cars and some UK cars he went on holiday to Spain and came back with a 1965 Lincoln continental short wheelbase limo he bought over there , he seen parked up and waited at a nearby cafe for 3 days to see if he could buy it , he was told it was something called a Whitehouse protocol and was used by US embassy's .
