As always, thx for the video. I have the CC150 the taller one. All this time I had no idea the black manifold part supposed to stay in when I pull the filter out. On top of the black manifold there’s a piece or a valve that seats on top. Should I always make sure the bottom of the lid lines flush with it? I’m not sure if the gauge will not work, if the two are not lined flush together. Thx in advance.
awesome thanks for this - i love youtube for things like this. I missed the step of draining it first (duh) and could not get the lid off. And a quick search on UA-cam and bam. You saved me at least an hour of frustration. Thanks !
Hi - I have this exact cartridge and need to change out the cartridge element, but the old one doesn't seem to want to separate from the core. When cleaning it over the past 2 years, I lift the entire cartridge unit out, I didn't even know it was 2 separate pieces. Can you explain how to removed the old filter element from the black core piece? Thanks!
Thanks for the response. I finally got it. I removed the little "sock" from the top of the core, turned the entire unit upside down, tapped it on the ground, and it slid off easily.
Should I leave the locking ring holding on to a tab where the presser is or it’s ok to spin the ring past the tabs like you did? It sure if I’m asking correctly. Should the ring to tighten past the tab or does it need to use the tab not to blow off and secure the cap?
Thanks appreciate you. My filter is smaller but everything else the same. Everything went just as you described and showed. I can already tell its cleaner, and is running better. You just saved me a hundred bucks or something like that.
Thank you very helpfull. I have a above ground pool with a one horse power pump and I noticed with a small pump like mine it's always better to fill the bottom portion of the filter shell with water before installing the top portion of the filter shell.
Here are the steps I took: 1) I put all 4 pool filters in a large trash bag and put it in my back trunk. 2) I put 16 quarters and a very WIDE tooth hair comb in my pocket. 3) Drove to a self service car wash. 4) Lined the filters up in a straight line in the car wash bay. 5) Put 4 quarters in the box and selected engine/tire degreaser. 6) Sprayed the filters with the engine/tire degreaser. 7) While spraying, I periodically ran the WIDE tooth comb up and down the filter to help open spacing between the pleats. 8) I let the filters sit and saturate for a few minutes. 9) Put 4 quarters in the box and selected low power wash (do NOT select HIGH power because the pressure could tear the filters). 10) Sprayed the filters to remove the tire/engine degreaser. 11) While spraying, I periodically ran the WIDE tooth comb up and down the filter to help open spacing between the pleats. 12) Repeated process 2 more times with the quarters and spraying the filter & using the WIDE tooth comb. 13) Put all 4 pool filters in a large trash bag and put them in my back trunk. 14) Went back home :)
Hey David, this is Paul. I hope you’ve been doing well. I have a question I bought a new kreepy krauly classic, but I’ve been reading up on the history of how Pentair bought Pac fab who owned creepy Crawley at one time and according to my research, there was three incarnations of the design the original then the 1993 to 99 version then the 2003 to 2012 which I just bought new then the current version I’m just curious as you’ve been in the industry for a long time what is your favorite version of the creepy Crawley and why what would you say is the most durable?
We bought a house that has this unit INSIDE!! Had no idea what a pain it was going to be considering this unit should be outdoors!! We can’t let air out or drain it easily because it’s in a closet. We’ve flooded the closet twice now trying to figure this thing out. My question is, the black piece that the filter sits on seems to say that it needs to sit in the chamber a certain way. I think we may have gotten it wrong. First clue is that the watery would not get clear. We tried water clarifier and shock. My husband gave up and got in anyways. As we got out the jets wouldn’t shut off and the psi was up to 10. The control panel wouldn’t respond. Did we just break our hottub? We did some trouble shooting after filling it too cuz the jets wouldn’t stay on. We tried to get air out of the system. We have to drain that thing almost dry to get the cap off or it will pour over into the closet! This is crazy!
You may need to call a pool company in your area to look at the system and I would have them give you a price to move the filter outside. Sounds like a dangerous situation having it in a closet inside.
I am having a challenge pulling the filter out, real tight with the black manifold, suggestions? I did eventually get it out but it didn't used to be this difficult.
I have a CC100 filter and it isn't filling with water, when I go to clean the filter the tank that it sits in is always empty any ideas on what my issue could be ?
@@SPL From the pump to the filter ? do you think it could be clogged ? Is the tank with the cartridge supposed to be filled with water ? I thought it was ?

I have a Pentair CC150. When I sweep the pool, the dirt goes right back in. I have a new cartridge and the black center piece is in properly. What do I do?
Yes. It was terrible. I lost a lot of water when I drained the winter cover because it sucked up through the liner. So by the time I got it refilled it was like the black lagoon. I watched you one video on how to make a pump to bypass the filter so you simply suck out the muck onto the ground. I am hoping that the filter is fine and it was just too much for it to handle...

Someone told me you have to do this once a week! Is that true? I just bought one of these and it’s getting installed tomorrow and I’m thinking Dang that’s a lot to have to go through every week!!
Thank you sooooooooo much! Your demonstration is invaluable to this first-time pool owner.

That is the air bleeder on top. Just make sure the little sock is on there or dirt can leak back into the pool.
I learned the same regarding the manifold. UA-cam comes through again!

You might need two people to pull it off. One person holding the black core firmly while you pull the cartridge off.
Thanks for the response. I finally got it. I removed the little "sock" from the top of the core, turned the entire unit upside down, tapped it on the ground, and it slid off easily.
I just installed the same filter and didn’t turn it on yet. My ring doesn’t go on tight. Is that normal?

Spin it until you hear it click in.

It can be very tight. It depends on the filter cartridge. Maybe try a different brand.

Air is getting in there. So it can never fully fill up. Usually right at the pump

got it done, all good, no leaking but....the psi is slowly going up. that normal?
Maybe your cartridge is getting old.
Mine is not opening up no matter what i do the black ring is out but the rest wont come out
What if the manifold comes out with the filter?
Just pull the filter off of it if you are replacing it. If not, just clean it with it inside.
Thank you for this video. It saved my pool.
I can’t get the lid off.
Any professional tips?
Let the water completely drain out and then try pulling up on it with good force.

What pool has that filter in it mines extremely small I have a c900 filter
Cant remember. But this one is tiny.
Can anyone tell me, please, what presses the filter cartridge down, preventing its floating up?
The lid should hold it down. If it is coming off the bottom it may be worn out

+crispycrazycard Could be the air relief has a small crack in it. Inspect it carefully - it may just need to be replaced.
thanks so much!
How do you get magic lube off your hands? I've tried everything nothing works.
Fast Orange Hand cleaner. Magic Lube = Messy 😉

Maybe once every month or two. Not every week usually
Depends on how dirty it gets. Watch the gauge not the time. I do mine every 4 to 6 months.
Thank u so much for making this video. Precious few on this system! Great help!
Thanks for the tip. New homeowner and my Pentair was filthy.
