I love this music, it brings great memories fo my childhood in Abeokuta and Lagos. Thanks to the internet, I can enjoy this music in the comfort of my house in the suburb of Nashville and reminiscent of the childhood at Lafenwa and Ketu at Abeokuta. I understand every word even after many years and schooling in the US. My daddy was a local Chief in Abeokuta, the same town Ayinla was born. It hurts to think that Ayinla is dead but great music lasts forever. Thanks for the memories.

This song took me straight to Abeokuta in the early 80's. I remember telling a Cab Driver to turn the volume down. He pulled over and told me to get out of his cab - lol.

great and salacious lyrics and excellent vocal delivery.OMOWURA -fiercely committed polygamist lambasting one of his errant wife!!--you could easily detect traits of pomposity and sheer fearlessness in his music which is borne out of his incomparable musical heavyweight and awesome talent he had.---even his critics knew "Ayinla is too much"

OMOWURA"s venomous,acid-laden tongue with vituperative anger was "blasphemous" towards all-conquering DEATH?what an unpardondable effontery and impertinence from the great musician to hurl onslaught of sustained abuses to the dreaded DEATH?mentioned that the latter was a thoughtless and senseless, just roaming around ceaselessly and killing with impunity. and Death"s fabled dishevelled and ragged appearance!!! Any unbiased distinguished poet would marvel at Ayinla"s poetic brilliance.

It is very sad that we can not see visual recording of these illustrious son of Africa who died few decades back around early 80s....To call him a genius is an abuse of word...He is simply indiscribable....

This music is forever, its memoirs unique, i remember when Alh. Amusa Gbadamasi opened his house in Asero Abeokuta, Ayinla was the invited grandmaster of the night's entertainment.
May the almighty keep his soul forever.

AYINLA`s prodigious song-churning talent transcended nationwide far beyond non-principality rural town of Itoko-where he biologically sprung from.We all aware IBADAN remain a great enchanting metropolitan city with long established accolade of being largest and sprawling environs in West Africa.Exclusion of Lagos State,Ibadan is eye-poppingly epicentre of culturally -diverse, heavily tribalised and heterogenous mini-state.Throughout the decade years of 1970-1980,TATALO ALAMU,EPO-AKARA and SAKA -

AYINLA BEYOND ITOKO 2---Saka Olaigbade, were unaguably TOP3 household names ibadanites who were prominently revered bandleaders with foothold popularity,my neutrality observant as an adolescent IJEBu-born all-music lover,i could easily detected that Ayinla songs are much popular than those aforementioned natives singers in Ibadan!! Even S.A. Barrister, much prouder Ibadanite-t hough Lagos based- and sharing ubiquitous adulation of prominence- was aware of AYINLA`s legendary solid presence

DAUDA`S Unfulfilled AYINLA`s gold encrusted dynasty:As a natural succesor, sharing family surname in similarity with added glittering criteria as a respectable established long term backing band member, noted as a sonorous-voiced vocalist,Dauda was chosen to take over the band in the mould of his passed- away famous brother-at least to continue and sustain Ayinla`s unrivalled success and phenomenon rising fame-- Dauda--presumably with considerable limited singing talent--grabbed it

WAS it the moment Ayinla incurred the devastating, merciless anger of the DEATH?In 1979,a celebrated renowned wealthy businessman with prestigeous chieftancy titled of SERIKI of Egbaland shockingly dead.In the subsequent tribute songs of dedication Omowura waxed for him,he voiceferously railed and ranted;mocking and ridiculed the existence of DEATH!!("iku oponu olomi jabala dudu ohoho, koni ohun ro ju ko ma ju won logo kiri;gbogbo oju pon gbogbo ohun ara re nderuba eniyan).

Fatai Bayewu was not publicly executed. Public execution was the sentence for armed robbery specifically and that was only in the early 70s. More, public execution had been expunged from the criminal code by the time Ayinla was murdered in 1980 and his killer subsequently tried and found guilty. Fatai Bayewu like Eji Gbadero was sentenced to death by hanging.

DAUDA`S unfulfilled AYINLA`s gold encrusted dynasty:I doubt if it wasnt devoid of Adewole`s expertise talking drumming; it was severely flawed composition of Apala songs by any imaginable standards Even without cruelly comparing Dauda`s unconvincing repertoire to Ayinla`s enviable legendary talent-any lenient music critic wouldnt give Dauda more than 5 out of 10 in marking!! And as Ayinla famously and excellently phrase it:"Asiki ju ra won lo;oluwa kopin dogba ri"(Side 2, Ise ile lo ba won deta

RE-FATAI BAYEWUN`s public execution--i wasnt refering to familiar "mob justice" where enraged die-hard AYINLA`s fans en masse trooped onto the streets pounced on FATAI with dust-caked,disused car tyre and burned him to death! NO. DAUDA¬s 1st post AYINLA album. he detailed us that FATAI was arraigned at a popular magistrate courtroom in Abeokuta, instantly found guilty of AYINLA`s murder and few weeks later, he faced "firing squad" where stone-hearted,evil-monstering looking, gun totting --

--heavily armed foot army officers shot him dead. Capital punishment was ultimate sentence for anyone found guilty of murder then. 2 years earlier, EJI GBADERO,a celebrated,upper-crust Egba-born socialite and a descendant scion ,land-owning aristocratic family was found guilty of murder whereupon he was made to face feared "firing squad" and was shot to death . His crime: he was alleged to have matcheted to death an innocent man he had once sold plot of land,UNAWARE,a another man saw

Neither Eji Gbadero nor Fatai Bayewu was killed by a firing squad. Public execution was introduced specifically for the crime of armed robbery in the years following the civil war but the barbaric nature of the punishment was recognized for what it was and it was stopped not long after. Murderers have always suffered death by hanging in Nigeria

DAUDA`S Unfulfilled AYINLA`S gold-encrusted dynasty:Dauda`s first post Ayinla album wasnt a memorable and conspicuous massive success at all! inevitably, he sorrowfully lamented the abrupt and premature loss of AYINLA whereupon he boisterously derided FATAI Bayewun-who had since been convicted of Ayinla `sbloody murder and subsequently publicly executed--with contemptous hatred, tirade of abuses;he likened Fatai to Biblical Lord Jesus Christ`s fatal nemesis-Judas Iscariot!! profanities aplenty!
