They actually find lip syncing more difficult than just singing live.. they say theyre having trouble.. that is why even while recording for their MVs they just sing live to make the singing cuts of the MV really be realistic.

Shinee is legendary for their live singing. And they are also known as CDnee. As in the eat their CDs coz they sound so stable singing live that they sound/look like they are lipsyncing. During their training days, they sing while jogging. That's how they get their stamina. I've attended a few of their concerts. No joke... They are phenomenal!
SHINee’s stamina are insane really. Their concerts run for like 3 hours... usual setlist is 30 songs with only brief breaks to change. One section goes with 5-6 songs of nonstop performance per song more intense than this SHERLOCK STAGE. Probably only section to just stand is ballad section.. so only like 4-5 of 30 songs.. all the rest be hard choreo or theyre running around the stage. Their concerts are super worth it!

Please check out Ring Ding Dong + Lucifer from SWC5. They performed it almost halfway of their concert (so they're performing for over 1 hr already by that time) and yet their energy was still super high and voices were so stable. You won't have any doubt their mics are on.

The ONLY thing SHINee is not good at is lip syncing, so they have specifically trained since their debut, to build stamina and endurance, in order to be able to sing live for 3+ hours straight and always sound flawless while performing these intense choreographies. It may be shocking because they sound so flawless even though they are dancing so intensely, but that is why they are such legends and why they are so highly respected in the industry. SHINee are referred to as CDINee or CD-eaters, because they sound even better live then they do in their studio recordings. It is a running joke between fans and the members that you can tell when SHINee are lip syncing because they are so bad at it, that is why they avoid it at all costs. So when you hear SHINee sing, 95% of the time it will be live. (If you ask any of the members, what is something you are not good at? One of the very first things they will say is, "I am horrible at lip syncing." -- I have heard the members say this multiple times with my own ears.) Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, what you will hear is live vocals. Other Idols and audio sound technicians, etc. who have witnessed SHINee performing live are always blown away, because in the parts of the song where most singers would take a break and rely on the backing track vocals to cover their voices so they can catch their breath and recover, this is where the SHINee members actually ramp it up and become their most powerful. I guarantee, that if you were to listen to them singing a cappella while performing some of their most intense choreographies, they would sound just as flawless. That is why, even as rookies, senior artists would stop what they were doing to watch SHINee's rehearsals on music programs because SHINee's vocal talent is that impressive. When SHINee debuted they were the first group to demonstrate how it was possible to sing live while performing intense choreography and still maintain stable vocals. Before SHINee, the thought within the industry was that it wasn't possible to sing live and also perform high intensity choreography at the same time. At that time, most groups would either sing live and have simple choreography, or they would have crazy cool choreography but lip sync to their recorded vocals. SHINee was the group that changed the industry and proved that if you wanted to compete you needed to up your game. SHINee live is unmatched and it's literally referred to as the SHINee standard. Im not in that concert, never been to one but, I definitely can say that this performance is live, you can hear some off notes and as I looked at how their mike is moving while dancing the volume of their voices changed. Kudos to Shinee 👍not everyone in the industry can do this kind of performance. They're one of the few kpop groups I've known that I can say worth to be called artist.
There are times when SHINee lip sync (ofc) but it’s usually too obvious. It’s either they won’t give a dang and goof around, sometimes singing while the mic is upside down, sometimes forgetting to sing, or pointing the mic at Shawols. Shawols know when theyr lip syncing.
SHINee like a group have amazing vocal performances but also like soloists. Maybe someday you can react to them. Haha...I told you the Kings of live. Wait until you see Everybody live. They are known in the industry for their work ethic and skills. I have mad respect for them. I used to be a professional dancer so I get the stamina and focus you need to maintain for these kinda high energy choreos and I just thank the gods I wasn't expected to sing as well..😱..( not that anyone would have paid me for singing..so there's that..😂).
I recommend Like a Fire at SHINee World III! It's got really clear live vocals and they're goofing around while dancing but they go off with the vocals!

You gotta know, Studio Choom focuses on the choreography so they aren't singing live here, but the choreography is just too crazy. What I say to others who choose to have these types of channels to research your group before you critique. They are known for their live performances. They are called the Princes of KPOP. This is old and there are only four of them now and they do just as well. Jonghyun passed away. You need to watch Taemin's solo dancing. Yes, this was a popular song.
You can hear it's live because they're pushing a little bit. And someone's larynx kinda went up there for a second. But that's even more impressive cause they controlled it and they kept dancing.
Welcome to Kpop. Alot of artists are trained to sing and dance and rap and look good LIVE. And a lot of them do that very well. My respect for idols are huge, so young and ppl outside of kpop don’t get how hard they actually work. They do lipsync or sing with a backing track sometimes, though I dont see much of a problem with that as Korea has alot of music shows and idols would have to sing and perform almost everyday during their promotions, and that could harm their voices. Of course, they mostly sing live.
There was a video of a TV show sound tech recording their raw mic feed from the sound room and the staff just being gobsmacked… Plus as others have said, they also were asked to sing on camera while doing their jog along the Han river as proof, they did and the rest is history. They also trended when MR removed became a thing and people just went ya huh? Shinee been singing live and cue the raw mic feed vid.

You can hear it's live because they're pushing a little bit. And someone's larynx kinda went up there for a second. But that's even more impressive cause they controlled it and they kept dancing.

Welcome to Kpop. Alot of artists are trained to sing and dance and rap and look good LIVE. And a lot of them do that very well. My respect for idols are huge, so young and ppl outside of kpop don’t get how hard they actually work. They do lipsync or sing with a backing track sometimes, though I dont see much of a problem with that as Korea has alot of music shows and idols would have to sing and perform almost everyday during their promotions, and that could harm their voices. Of course, they mostly sing live.
There was a video of a TV show sound tech recording their raw mic feed from the sound room and the staff just being gobsmacked…
Plus as others have said, they also were asked to sing on camera while doing their jog along the Han river as proof, they did and the rest is history. They also trended when MR removed became a thing and people just went ya huh? Shinee been singing live and cue the raw mic feed vid.
I gotta say that really set the bar extremely high during their peak and I honestly think they set the standard we see now in 4th gen groups.
