text: Psalm 23: 1-6
The Lord is my shepherd; therefore can I lack nothing.
He shall feed me in a green pasture, and lead me forth beside the waters of comfort. He shall convert my soul and bring me forth in the paths of righteousness,
for His Name's sake.
Yea, though I walk though the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For thou art with me: Thy rod and thy staff comfort me.
Thou shalt prepare a table before me against them that trouble me:
Thou hast anointed my head with oil and my cup shall be full.
But thy loving kindness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord, forever.
Jane Harrison is such a wonderful artist who has graced the Ellingwood Concert Series many times over the years.
I personally prefer this instrumentation to the full orchestra. The organ is just so sacred sounding.
I love it.... But yes, it sounds even better with the orchestra in the original recording... Plus Jane's oboe sounds cold, and diminished..... (Because American Oboe and Cold Church (audible echo)..... not her fault)
I specifically searched for an organ accompaniment video because I prefer it that way too. And we had a wonderful clarinetist who played that solo line. The oboe sounds wonderful to me.
My mother recently passed away, and I am so grateful that you published this performance on UA-cam. Your performance brings great comfort to me at a time of profound sorrow. Thank you.
Hi there,
Is there any way I can get the sheet music of this arrangement for my wedding? I've never heard a version like this where the organ covers the harp part and I love it. I'd like to walk down the aisle to it xxx
Olivia Castle, you can easily order the requiem online. I am was actually playing from a piano score but there is an organ accompaniment score i believe
