Jesus Christ what a difference between this explanation and what our professor should us. 😱😱😱 This video is awesome! So many things are clear now to me. 🙌🙌🙌
I have to thank you deeplt for this clear explanation. Im only halfway through but this is finally allowing me to understand geostatistics in a way that classes haven't.
Excellent video. Very clear speaking voice and thoroughly explained. Highly professional. Thank you, it helped a lot. Eagerly looking forward to the next series.
Excellent explanation ... I had been struggling for more than one year to understand the difference between correlogram and semi-variogram ... I also read your book "An Introduction to Applied Geostatistics" which was somewhat helpful ... but I admit the mistake on my part that reading books make me weary ... Anyhow I was unable to fully understand the concepts, until I stumbled upon this video. Many Thanks Dr. Isaaks!
Fantastic video. Thank you so much? Only thing that bugs me a bit is that the statistics don't add up with the %cg given in the two profiles at the beginning of the video. Am I missing something?
Sir i'm terribly sorry. Im downloading your ebook which i get free from internet. I dont mean to steal from you, you are a gold standard in explaining elaborate theories. For your payment i can only pray that you have a good and happy long life, sir
Many thanks for this great video. But i can't find the next 2 videos (Calculating directional sample variograms & Modeling directional sample variograms).
Sir I really appreciate this lecture. Immensely helpful and clear! However I'm just wondering if I used the correct method to calculate average and standard deviation of Lag 1 and Lag 2 of Stream 1 -- my averages and SD differ a bit from yours. My Steam 1 Lag 1 Mean(tail) = 0.913846, Mean(head) = 0.936923, SD(tail) = 0.120591, SD(head) = 0.108584. Lag 2 Mean(tail) = 0.898, Mean(head) = 1.026, SD(tail) = 0.122963, SD(head) = 0.085615. Thank you!
Thanks for the vid. So far, this is the great one. But, is there any way to calculate/estimate multidirectional variogram? I don't know how to interpret it.
Taking into account that the profile 1 apparently shows less variance, why its values look further apart that the ones in the profile 2 which have more variance ?
I feel absolutly dump but I was playing around with the given example and find out that Lag Statistics is absolutly wrong. For example, for Lag 2 the Tail mean = 0.91, Tail Std = 0.12, r=0.19, am I missing something? Thank you!
Thank you very much for this video! However, I think your calculations are not correct, you seem to have included more than 40 datapoints per transect. In your first head-tail-scatterplot, there are 48 instead of 40 points for example. I also get different mean, sd values etc when I rerun the calculations with the 40 values that are shown in the lineplots.
bad presentation. you have shown at no point practical implication, but just outlined formulas. I conclude that variograms are useless in practice and are just for somebody who likes to calculate numbers

The best geostatistics explanation on youtube. Thank you !
Excellent! Finally I have come to a site where I begin to understand this matter of the variograms
Great video, unfortunately I couldn't find the next video on variogram.
Wow, this is a memorable class. I am falling in love with spatial statistics. Keep up the good work
I have to thank you deeplt for this clear explanation. Im only halfway through but this is finally allowing me to understand geostatistics in a way that classes haven't.
Fantastic video! Very clear, comparing with my sleepy "docents" at the uni, til today I finally understood!Thank you!
Thank you for such exemplary and clear explanations of the variogram and other concepts 🙌!
Very interesting and well organized presentation and teacher. Really I benefited from this video. Many thanks!
You’ve perfectly described my entire semester in geostatistics thank you!!
Great video, excellent introduction. Really appreciate you putting this together.
Thanks Edward, I finally understood this important concept, because of you!
Very nicely explained,Simply loved the style of presentation in a crisp and clear voice.Waiting eagerly for next videos upload.
Excellent video. Very clear speaking voice and thoroughly explained. Highly professional. Thank you, it helped a lot. Eagerly looking forward to the next series.
This explanation is so good that at some point I just knew you hold a PhD, which you do. Thanks a lot!
excellent class you are a great teacher. I had trouble understanding these concepts and books didn't help. saludos desde Perú
Thank you so much!!!! It's absolutely terrific teaching about Variogram!! Cleared all my questions!! Very easy to understand. Best Ever!

Great explanation! I liked the use of geometry for the semivariogram concept, thanks!
Highly professional and fascinating explanation! Thank you, sir.
Edward Isaaks, you're a genius. Great explanation, thank you very much.
Great video, easy to interpret, looking forward to next two lectures. Thank you .
You are a great teacher. Love ur teaching
this is awesome, i sometimes have to supervise drilling core samples, this will come in handy determining how many holes to drill and how close
Awesome Explanation. Thank you. Please share the rest of the videos.
Please have you seen the rest of the videos? If yes, could you share them with me? rvihotogbel@yahoo.fr
Thanks this plus the chapter in your book were a big help to this geoscientist!
Thank you for uploading this great video, looking forward for more,
Thank you so much for the video/explanation! You're a great teacher.
Wow, excellent video presentation. Thank you.
Great content! Loved it!
Fantastic teaching, excellent lesson!
thanks a lot. i was having a problem understanding the matter and this helps! xoxo
Fantatisc! Very clear!
Eduard, that's a fantastic work!
My Masters looks at sediment and rivers so your video was very pertinent. Your explanation is fantastic. Thank you very much.
Fantastic video. Thank you so much?
Only thing that bugs me a bit is that the statistics don't add up with the %cg given in the two profiles at the beginning of the video. Am I missing something?
I have the same issue with the video!
demystifying indeed. i really appreciate this class.
Very good explanation! Thanks for your vid.

So nicely explained
How powerful can the internet be? Dear Mr. Edward Isaaks, thank you for your efforts.
Many thanks for this great video. But i can't find the next 2 videos (Calculating directional sample variograms & Modeling directional sample variograms).
I also can not find the next 2 videos.
Awesome video
Good video. Could you please upload the other videos?
Great explanation, thanks!
Is spatial continuity essentially the same things as positive spatial autocorrelation?
Really appreciate the explanation, how can I find the other two videos?

Yeah me too :( did you find out why?
@@kevinnicosurposa4128 not yet, and don't know why... lol
such a great explanation! thanks so much!!
Many thanks for the vid. It was very helpful! Could you upload the other parts too?
Thank-you for a very clear explanation.
You probably don’t realize but this is the great Isaaks who wrote with Srivastava An Introduction to Applied Geostatistics. Thank you very much
I wish I had seen this beautiful resume earlier...
Excelent explanation, thank you!

Very easy and informative .. where is the 2nd video?
Amazing video. Thanks a lot
Beautiful style of explaining a segment of statistics, which is surprisingly made 'A mother of complexity' and people want to stay away from it. :)
Very interesting video !!!!
I like a lot this explanation. Thank you.
Thanks, that was terrific!
Excellent!
Excellent
Great!. Thanks Ed.
.... so were the subsequent videos never uploaded?

Great tutorial. Where is part 2?
nicely explained!!!
Thank you,very interesting and helpful.
Very interesting
How do you calculate the parameters of your ordinary kriging, like the mean, variance, MSE, MAE, quarter, minimum etc, practical example
I use JMP
Prof I will like to discuss with you on eghwerido.joseph@fupre.edu.ng on some points
Man, what the heck is a variogram indeed.
Thanks
find very interesting WHERE CAN I FIND INFORMATION ON variogram
pLEASE!!!
Thanks very much.
Thank you a lot Mr.
Unbelievable video
Dear Mr. Isaaks, can you recommend any literature on the topic of kriging/cokrigin and variograms?
Try "An Introduction to Applied Geostatistics" by Isaaks and Srivastava, Oxford University Press
Great class!
Roberto Rolo I have some news -- I have posted two follow up videos on variography and will post the third today. hope you enjoy the videos. ed
Of course! Your teaching skills are amazing. I'll check it out
Edward Isaaks Really great. You have done us all a service.
+Edward Isaaks great video, thanks. Can you tell me where to find the follow ups, I can't find them on your channel?
Great Video ,, could you please post the ppt file ?

if you want, I could help you... I speak spanish
Mr. Edward, how are you doing these days?
Did you ever get a reply?
So is Semi-Variogram a Variogram? I dont see any definitonsof Variogram, so what the heck is variogram?
Thank you very much for this video! However, I think your calculations are not correct, you seem to have included more than 40 datapoints per transect.
