I just talked to my Coach who was at a “Gold Clinic” in Oxnard, CA with JS most likely during that trip to Cali. He worked out with JS and went to lunch with him. He didn’t hear about it but he didn’t doubt Antonio would be able to shock everyone. I heard this story when I was in high school around 95 and I heard it from Antonio probably around 2000. I’m gonna dig through my sources some more.

I don't enjoy wrestling. Haven't watched since kurt angle won gold in Atlanta. I don't know many of the people mentioned here. I still watched beginning to end and am as invested as anyone else in how it turns out. Only uncle Chael.
McKee ended up weighing 152 or 153lbs so it was erased but McKee asked Smith to get on the scale but Smith wouldn’t
I remember there was something like that about the weight. I was told this story by McKee maybe the week after it happened. It seemed at the time that they hadn't weighed in before the match. That Smith didn't expect much. Then only after losing, they started questioning Antonios weight.

I grew up wrestling and wear John Smith’s signature wrestling shoes all throughout grade school, high school etc and went to the OSU wrestling camps where I got to be coached and trained by John Smith himself. Where is the update? I was in the training room with Antonio 20 years ago. It was known he was manhandling then light heavyweights at the time(rampage, tito, etc). Never personally rolled with him but my teammates did and said his grip was insane. I heard this story then though.

Are we really supposed to believe anything Antonio McKee says? After hearing him tell A.J. he had won every round going into the 5th, I don't think he's the most reliable person out there...I mean I get it it's your son but to actually think AJ had won every round was just irresponsible..You could see the shock on A.J.s face after hearing the decision..It was a close fight but his dad really had him thinking he had won every round.
