Many years ago, I worked for a small company in Belgium that dealt with classic cars and kit cars. On a lovely Sunday, we took several cars to a kit car show in the Netherlands. I had the pleasure of riding with an Englishman to the show. It was a Lotus 7 variant with two engines under the hood; if I remember correctly, it was a Tiger-Z. I even visited their small factory in London, where they had a prototype Ferrari 250LM kit car that I was really taken with. After all these years, I still kick myself for not buying it back then. I was much younger and should have done everything I could to meet the asking price, but I let it slip away. Anyway, on our way to the kit car show on the highway, we were cruising at a normal speed. A big BMW sped past us, and I jokingly said to the Englishman, “The Germans are always faster.” He shot me an angry look and snapped, “You bloody fool!” He downshifted, and with smoking tires, we zoomed past that BMW. We had a good laugh about it later.
Donkervoort is so obsessed with designing, i know some investors sometimes get annoyed by their obsession with perfection, it is very time consuming, but the cars speak for themselves.
