I have dry lips and really like these Gucci liquid lipsticks. I have 4 of them. They feel really comfortable to me because of how thin the formula is. I wear them on their own for a more natural look and over lip liner for more impact. Both colors look great on you btw.
Hello Francesca! I am so glad to hear this perspective from you. And it makes me wonder about myself. Let me explain. Is it that, and I wonder this about a lot of people too, is it that my lips go dry so easily that if anything Matte is on them, I feel like it must be drying? In other words could it be in my head? I will wear these lipsticks more and see what I think as the days come.
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I like to apply a small amount with the applicator and tap it all over my lips with my finger. It feels like part of my lips this way and doesn’t feel like I have anything on. You could always try them as cheek tints if they don’t work on your lips.
@@frankie5779 Yes! That makes total sense. And tapping it all feels less harsh too. Like you just touched your lips rather than scrubbing. Great idea!
It’s always a no for me on liquid lipsticks, but want to mention the Gucci setting powder is divine! And the packaging…😍
Oh Sheila! Yes. The setting powders are very good. They do powders well I think.
Gucci lipsticks are the BEST, I also LOVE their eyeliner, I got it in the blue color. I feel like their eyeshadow isn’t very pigmented but I enjoy the softer look. I have probably 30 Gucci lipsticks and I just think they’re gorgeous.
I do agree though their foundation is pretty awful I have it and can’t get through it
I absolutely should have added that their lipsticks are wonderful. And this liquid lipstick, though not my favorite because I suffer from dry lips, does do a lot of very good things. But, unfortunately, if someone has dry lips, their better choice is the original Gucci lipstick which comes in so many gorgeous shades.

Hello Risse! If you don’t tend to suffer from dry lips, I think this is a great product with good color saturation and a nice easy wand to use and some good staying power. But if liquid lips tend to dry your lips out anyway, I feel like this one will probably be dissatisfying.
Chanel is always #1 for me in liquid lips.🙂
Totally. Chanel liquid lipstick is the only one anyone ever really needs.
I use my trusty Beekman 1802 probiotic lip balm as a base and it helps a lot. I use my Beekman 1802 lip balm beneath every lipstick I put on.
You know I keep saying I’m gonna try that Brand and I haven’t yet. I have no excuses.
Thanks for posting this review. I'll be steering clear of their foundation, phew! And yes, the two liquid lipstick shades do look awfully similar... makes me feel like I definitely don't need multiple shades from this line, yay money saved!
Hello Shannon! Gucci is so hit and miss. Great bronzer but this foundation and their eyeshadow isn’t the best. New foundation coming from them again soon. I’m anxious but not optimistic. Haha.
Honest review and I totally agree with you. I find Gucci is just huge on “packaging”. It’s really nice pulling out their compact and touch up lipstick in public, but that’s all they are. The powder compact is so hard pressed.
I have Mildred rosewood, the color is beautiful, packaging is nice, but it’s not long lasting as Chanel and the finish is super matte.

Hello Jenny. I absolutely agree. There's just too much lacking. When we look at Chanel, as you mention, they have such a rich history with fragrance and beauty that I trust their creations. Gucci, it always ends up feeling a bit rushed to me, a bit of a second thought that they've farmed out (and they have, to Coty Inc) to put their label on for quick cash. I'll continue to root for them but...so far....not entirely impressed.

Oooooo that’s right. The Melt liquid lips are very good. Good point. I need to try Dose of Colours. Embarrassed to say I have never tried anything by that brand! And I know they’re amazing.

I love those. I also really like Sugar Pill, the new Ace Beaute, and Lunar Beauty’s (although the last is not transfer proof, but really comfy)!
The only liquid lip I like is the Chanel one with the gloss. That does dry my lips a little too though. Have a nice day.

Hello Esther! The Chanel are the best on the market. Hands-down. The colors that are offered are amazing and the gloss over the top is beautiful. There is truly no need to look elsewhere. I totally agree.
Are great ! Not my fav ! BUT I use it as a blush and on the eyelids and it looks very nice, I have the same shade , they meet in Argentina☀️☀️☀️

Hi Rebecca! Love the honest review!! I bought the Mildred Rosewood during the sale and I agree.. this shade and “They Met in Argentina” do look very similar as I’ve seen in recent reviews. The online pics were no help at all, most especially because there were no swatches (which most of the time on Sephora’s website aren’t always the most helpful anyway) and the descriptions were almost silly to even include. Four of the shades are described as soft matte pink. I was cross-referencing the shades names with other Gucci lip formulas to try and decide.. a lot more work in figuring colors out than it should be. However, I actually like this liquid lip. I love the rosewood shade and the formula I find to be light feeling on the lips. When it dries down, I almost forget I’m wearing it. You are absolutely right… not transfer-proof but I think if it were, it would feel much more dry to me. I wanted to also get the Grace Cinnamon because it appears to be a much lighter color, but it’s been sold out. If I do though, going to get it with my reward.. do not plan on purchase any other way unless I find another sale. ;-)
Everything you say is true. And you’re right haha that the shade descriptions are most nearly the same. Haha. It’s like rosy pink and pinkish rose. Haha. I need to try tapping it on with my fingers so it will feel more like part of the lips.

I ordered the Gucci, but it hasn’t yet arrived. Another liquid lipstick that is like the Mario and VERY comfortable is Lunar Beauty’s. I LOVE it. Haven’t tried the Mario yet, but am in LOVE with their balm (not sure what it is called). It is a little tingly, but mostly just feels and looks great while hydrating my lips.
Good morning, Rabbi! Oh I love that Mario lip serum. Completely other side of the spectrum from these matte, transfer proof liquid lips. And that’s probably why I also like Mario’s liquid lip because it’s a cream. You don’t get the benefit of it not transferring but at least it’s not as drying. I need to try the one from lunar beauty. I don’t know a lot about the brand except that people love them. So I need to experiment with their products.
I wonder what’s if there is a change in formula since Pat Mcgath left Gucci. You have a right to your opinion.
Hello there! This is definitely a new formula for the brand. There are ways to really make this work. But it will just never be my favorite. But, to be honest, I’m a huge match liquid lipstick fan anyway! So who am I to judge I suppose!😘

The mattes seem like mask releases, you know? Why didn't Gucci do a serum lip shine clickity click thing that doesn't retract?? And they can charge $50 for it. It must be on its way, right?
Same, sis, same!! I do have a couple of mattes, but I always add sparkle on top. Yep, sometimes this is a complete disaster (i.e., formulas don’t mix well). However, 98% of the time it works!!!!! 😃💄🥰
You can get a delightfully gorgeous Chanel gloss for $10 less than these!! 💋

Hey SUSAN! I need to try the refy lip sculpt but I have not yet. And, yes, the Gucci powders seem to be very good, better than their other offerings for sure.
They aren’t new but I really like the Nars power matte lip pigments. They have some great nude shades and they are comfortable. I also just ordered some of the Armani Maestros to try as they had a 30% off flash sale. Have you tried those? I’ve heard good things and they have tons of shades.
Hello Sarah! You will like the Armani. Those are very good little lipsticks. So is the Narrs actually. Both are better than this to be honest and cheaper!
The Gucci satin lipsticks are great, though! But that is the only thing good from makeup line.
Hello Amber! I totally agree with you. I mentioned the bronzers which are very good albeit highly fragranced and somehow I forgot to mention the satin lipsticks which, I agree, our lovely, and come in so many beautiful shades.

I had a few colours in my cart since they launched during the Sephora sale. In Canada they are $55 a piece and none of the colours really spoke to me unlike TF's soleil 2022 release in which I bought two as soon as I figured out which colour was which lol, so in the end I decided to pass. I only own one Gucci matte lipstick and I was not that impressed with it as I found it wore more like a satin than a matte as it did not last on the lip that long. I have had their bronzer in my wishlist since they launched and have still yet to pull the trigger, at this point I probably won't. Like you I'm not that impressed with their offerings, pretty packaging, however I need more than just that. I also haven't gotten into Hermès makeup with their not so pretty packaging. J. 🙂
Hello julienne! A conversation for another time but I am, in general, not impressed by what I see as a lackluster money grabs from very high end luxury clothing brands. I leave out of this Chanel and Dior, of course, because they have been in this game a very long time but houses like Hermès and Gucci are not beauty Brands and they are doing this to get money and it works. I succumb to many purchases from these brands but, in general, I do not support Louboutin and others trying to get into the beauty realm. So I completely agree with you.
Hi Rebecca. The more i use the Huda one the more I'm disliking them. I don't tend to suffer from dry lips but its not only very drying but the formula is a little flakey. I prefer my PMG over Huda. Also I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Armani Beauty cream mattes...sooo comfortable, nicely pigmented and good staying power.
I dont particularly like Mario's lipstick formulas. So far my favorite liquid matte mattes are PMG, Nars and Armani Beauty .
I'm think I'm going to skip on this Gucci lipstick. I'm not very much into Gucci

Hello Andrea! There is no doubt that the Gucci bronzer is amazing. I think they do powders well in general. But I’m not sure they are a welcome addition to the Beauty space as it feels like they cheap out or make mediocre products. I haven’t used the Huda enough to see it dry my lips out. On the day to day, I just reach for something more nourishing because I suffer from dry lips. The pat McGrath is very good though. I agree. And don’t forget Chanel.

But Gucci is no longer Italian, right?? I forgot the name of the creator I watched fairly recently. She was talking about what is fact and what is fiction in the movie House of Gucci and she said the family no longer owns anything at all when it comes to the brand. Is that true?? I don’t know but, if it is, how SAD. I am not into mattes anyway. I only own two at the moment and I slap a goopy gloss on top of them whenever humanly possible. Regardless, when I see the brand Gucci, all I can think about is that video about fact/fiction and darn it, I can’t remember the creator. Arrrrgh. You are absolutely correct. The family does not. Do you know what it’s kind of like? Brands like Land Rover. We always think of them as British cars. Jaguar too. But they’re not anymore. Jaguar is or was Ford for a while and now I guess Jaguar is grouped with Land Rover. Neither are British but, in our heads, they are British cars. And I’m sure we can come up with other things. To me, Gucci is and always will be an Italian house. But the ins and outs of the day today running are definitely no longer so. Interesting how that happens. I’m trying to come up with other examples of this and I’m sure that we can but you know what I mean. Goopy glosses rule for dry lips. Goopy Gucci.

And yes, exactly, the cars. I want to have your perspective that Gucci is and always will be an Italian house, but I can’t bring myself to feel that. Maybe it’s because my great-grandparents were from Italy. Obviously, what does that have to do with Gucci?? Nothing. Italy is a huge country. Couple that with the fact that my maternal grandfather also had a family business that he basically gave away, and you can do the math about stuff that YT video brought up for me. WAY too close. It's like "They Met in Argentina" vs "They Chatted in Argentina" and then there's "They Had Coffee in Argentina." There are only 9 shades. Why do my lips need to get dried out in such similar colors?? Hahahahhahahahaha that you knew immediately. Hahahhahaha.

But, yes, why are the shades so similar kind of like they wanted to do just one shade but figured they had to make a collection so they did variations on a theme!
