No they lower the price of said car by x amount and put that on all forms for them. They then take that let's say 2k you put down on a 22,000 car. When they apply you to get financed they put 20,000 no down payment. They then take that 2,000 cash and pocket it and all papers showing you had a downpayment (unless it's actually on the loan documents) they then can take the money and hide it from the goverment. Or they want that cash on hand for there business.
Tbh I didn’t know it was illegal till this year but you can literally see in the contract that it doesn’t I always realized that and never knew like why
