Dear Rajesh, I have created two groups called finance and sales. but while creating newusers (newusers belongs to finance department) by mistakely i created sales department OU instead of finance WRONGLY. Is their any way to change ou group using ldapmodify tool. RIGHT:: dn: cn=shekar k,ou=finance,dc=gustitools,dc=org BUT I CREATED WRONLGY dn: cn=shekar k,ou=sales,dc=gustitools,dc=org Kindly help me about this issue.

Hello Rohit, Please verify the DN of the entry where you are trying to add the user. Likely that such an entry may not exist in your OpenLDAP instance.
Thank you! I had delete the bdb file from backend which was holding the ou information before running the command. That is why server was not able to locate the dn.
