There is a pit toilet at the trailhead, no water at all.
Best Route to get there is from Hwy 371...it is paved and you won't have to drive in the sand, like we did, coming from Hwy 550.
BEST way to get there --- take Hwy 371, not 550. We ended up on lots of dirt roads with signs that did not match up with our GPS and Google maps so we went in a circles before finally getting there. Roads were bad, very deep sand in spots! If you take 371, you will be on PAVED road until to get to a big sign putting you on a dirt road for less than 10 miles to the parking lot. Just our opinion, but it is very flat and disorienting out there in the badlands. Don't get lost!

No way anyone should do this in summer! But it is really awesome, glad we finally got there.
