Got back from holiday and my Kickstarter black box was waiting. Will be playing at our games club today - thank you really looking forward to giving it a go
Having seen this at the UKGE at the weekend, followed by watching a few videos of the game i have to say it looks amazing and have just added a late pledge for the game. This how to play video is great too. Thanks 🙏
I'm in this weird phase of my life where I've backed this game and feel like my life is on pause until it eventually arrives... I'm so pumped for the aircraft, vehicles, and everything that was unlocked!
Will there be an updated 'How To Play' video when the game is shipped? I feel like with all the added elements, it would be a better way to understand the game and make less mistakes than with just the rulebook. Looking forward to get this on the table!
Where did you get it made? Components are top notch, right down to the rounded corners on the operator boards and player aid. Got mine earlier, bought from someone selling it unopened. 👍
Great tutorial! Question: are diagonal squares at distance 1 considered to be adjacent to the operator (for dropping trap or bombs purposes ad example). Also is there a PnP version of this Intro Mission? I would like to make some play tests while I wait for the game.
yeah, all 8 squares around them are considered adjacent. No pnp sorry. I'm hoping to get this mission up on TTS soon but the main problem i have is that there have been a significant amount of small rule tweaks since the preview book. The only one really relevant to this video is that you can now climb and place through windows diagonally (it seemed logical for consistency, I have actually visibly widened the window frames to make LOS more obvious).
Quick question? So approximately 27th minute or a little earlier the furthest away axis soldier (near the event deck) shoots at Jock behind cover. Would his shots alert the two axis in the room next to him? (This would likely make the game very hard and end very quickly but seems more thematic) 🤣
Yeah exactly as you suggested, we have to suspend disbelief a little with axis gunfire or one slip up puts in play a cascade of events that would set the alarm off every time. Maybe we need a "veteran" difficulty
can you please list the rule changes since this video? I can not find anything in the rulebook regarding the defense roll when an operative is attacked by an axis guard
Axis attack rolls replaced operator defense rolls as players found it confusing. the other 2 changes are detailed in the video description. 5:54 Climbing and placing can now be done diagonally through windows! 27:15 The stealth meter now only advances 1 space regardless of the amount of alert units on he board.
@@dicesportsrob79 Thank you for the clarifications. Would also like to thank you for creating the game. The Black Box recently arrived and tried it out with a friend. The Commandos and Close Combat vibes were off the charts. We had a blast!
When you moved the alerted sentries to get a good position to shoot in the attack phase, why wouldn't the alerted sentries alert any other sentries within 4 spaces of them at the end of their movement?
I think you're always trying to strike a balance between theme, realism, mechanics & overall fun. There are a few things we swayed away from realism with to make the game work mechanically (such as LOS, weapon ranges, earshot etc) and then some stuff like this where additional alerts and alarm advances from enemy gunfire would basically mean that one small mistake would set in motion a chain of events that would trigger the alarm every time. The Commandos PC game did something similar where an alerted guy would come looking for you running past all he comrades that are just getting on with their day. I just think it's overall more fun if you can have a few of these small exchanges throughout a game that aren''t game ending.
@@dicesportsrob79 That is like the best answer anyone could have given. I like it. When we play games sometimes some of our gaming group keep complaining about 'realism' but realism isn't always fun. We're playing a game and games need to be balanced as such or they are simply too complicated and not fun. Of course for some that's what they want. I am going to copy and paste your reply so that I can save it next time I need to have that 'talk' with someone. Thank you. Sounds like a great game and one of my buddies may have already bought into the kickstarter.
Thank you, very good. Heading down to the table to complete some missions.
Wow what a nostalgia journey all the way back to the Commandos series on PC. Well done mate! Cant wait to play it.
thanks :)

This KS is blowing up, congratulations mate!
Thanks Dan :)
Great intuitive design. Looking forward to this campaign!
Looks really good, will check out KS for pledge info 👍
Reminds me of Hostage Rescue Squad by Mike Lambo
This game looks insanely fun. Instant back !
thanks for your support :)

Yes, i'll be doing a more broken down and in depth series of videos :)

The one in this video was actually made by me! My company manufactures prototypes here in the UK (Dice Sports)
awesome! it's feel like "metal gear solid" 🤩

For every alarmed guardsman decrese alarm level by one? in Rulebbok is only one level if someone is alerted.
That changed since the video, I'll add it to the updates list

Is there LOS in this game??
yes
@@dicesportsrob79 very good robert, I am a wargamer and LOS is vital.
Worst tutorial
