No it is not. There was no anime when they released the first Atelier game. But since Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, all Atelier games have anime intros. Just search youtube to see.
yeah i have the game already, i like it a lot, also from seeing AI vids it seems as if mana kheima is almost the same gameplay except it has better graphics :P and still, that doesnt answer if the series is based on anime :S
I'll probably get rated down for saying this, but I actually think this is a pretty poor intro, especially compared to the far superior intro to Atelier iris: Eternal Mana. But if you want to see some REALLY good anime intros to videogames, check out the intro to the Persona or Tales of series.

i pre-ordered the limited US edition of this game...it was limited to 1,000 pre-orders.
its based on the Atelier Iris series on PS2 and its a good game too. you'll very much like it if your an anime lover and if u like playing rpg games.

interesting. the title them is different than the final boss theme. that's a first in a videogame becuse the final boss theme has words.
