They have a time period where they estimate everything from having planned evaluations to the possible trainees on the verge of getting eliminated. Also, the new audition they opened are solely for younger ones. They will train them for god knows how long until they're marketable enough for debut.

(they didn't debut immediately after being revealed)
12 member... if you got talents and need to shared it with 12 ppl. It might be better choice to look for other opportunities especially with her high profile. She could even go solo and started from bottom like iu. But it would be a great lift if debut with a group and built a fb for solo later just like yedam trsr. But sm wouldnt give her leave only after 2 years without drama unless its a scandal.

There are controversies, yes but every hybe gg is so popular, has a huge fanbase, music is so good and all hitting billboard charts too. so future groups will too. So it's a great advantage as well. Now Katseye is debuting. So It will boost HYBE so much internationally. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
