Just picked up an 87 FXST-C for my kid. While not my first choice, it rides decent enough and we know the Evo is as reliable as we could hope for. Obvious concessions were made in handling, speed and weight for styling, but it does what a cruiser is suppose to do.
blacked out apperance is the best apperance because whatever bits of chrome you have on there in contrast wtih the blakc POPS. Chrome is overated and it's a pain in the ass to clean.
Vincent had the shock on top but no published connections that I could find, this post discusses some history www.tapatalk.com/groups/thechoppterunderground/has-anyone-t266.html
I owned one of Bill Davis’s bikes. It was built as a Pan/Frankenstein motor in a swing arm frame. The motor went to Texas, I hardtailed the frame and built a Shovelhead chopper. Thanks Bill
My fav is my Fat Bob. Never really paid attention to any softails before this bike. It just looked badass, had a pretty decent rider triangle, and rode so well I had to have one. Its a great do it all bike. Stripped down blasting mountain roads all day, or loaded up with gear and the ole lady for a weeklong trip.
The Deluxe is no question my favourite softail. Very sadly it is no longer in production. Hopefully it will return. But to be honest, I much prefer the pre-2018 Softails. The current ones look like Japanese copies IMO.
I can't understand how softails are so popular. I know HD released this bike to a whole new breed of rider, who didn't mind the fact that the softail is the wanna be rigid of the motorcycle world. I just don't get it.
When Easy Rider came out in 1969, the teen thru 20-something boomers couldn't afford a Harley, and couldn't keep a Shovelhead running even if they could. By the mid 80s - 90s they had climbed the corporate ladder into managerial positions just as their mid-life crisis was kicking in. They had some $$ so they ran to their local HD dealer to buy a quasi-chopper to become the quasi-biker they always dreamed of. By the 2010s their asses stated getting sore and they all started buying dressers. And that's my biker history lesson for today.
Truth be told, I just picked up an 87 Softail my kid asked me to look at for him. I prefer my Shovel, but it's a decent bike, and an Evo will run forever.
Skipped over a huge segment of 90s Softail. I really like the 1995 bad boy
Yeah, I did the first release and then the crossbones, skipped the bad boy, great bike and the one to own for sure. Thanks for watching!

Great bike for newer riders.
I miss the Heritage Springer much this Time ...
That was my favorite HD Platform
A great bike!
Thanks for the Upload 👍
Had a Heritage Softail and
currently have a 2010 Cross Bones
Great Bikes!
Very nice 👌🏼
Great to see you this weekend
Good to see you too!
Thank you for supporting Forgotten Angels. I had a blast 💥 this weekend.
Thank you Jerry! I had so much fun hanging out!
Another great video. Fantastic job on the information. My favorite softail is the 2007 HD night train. Keep up the amazing videos. 👏
That is a legend of a bike! The first dark custom bike ever released. Thanks for watching!
Really enjoyed the commentary. Thanks
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Same. My softail is my favorite so far. Though I would love to get my hands on an 84 with the 4 speed kickstart or a FX.
Love seeing folks find those early evo kickers like Cochran and LaneSPLT and creating kushtail bobbers.
Another great video, incredibly well done and educational. I now know more about the HD Softail than I ever thought I needed to 🥰😂 Legendary bike.
Thank you! It truly is ✌🏼
Love my Fatboy!!! I'm a Softail fan!!!!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love my 2007 softail classic all black and chrome rides smooth in town and highway
Awesome ride!
Harley Davidson made some really nice bikes back in the '80s and '90s. That "blacked out appearance" started a trend that destroyed everything.
Bring back the chrome I say!
@@KennyQuestShow YES. Chrome, unpainted aluminum, and bright shiny paint colors.

Awesome
Thank you Larry!
The original softail was a copy of the Vincent frame only he moved the shocks to the bottom to hide them .true fact

It was promoted as the performance choice in the Softail line.

I have a 96 FLSTN. Love the styling and the carbureted EVO. If I went twin cam I’d go deluxe 103 for certain.
Currently ride a 1988 FXST and the list of softails I've owned is quite lengthy.
Nice! Did you go back to an EVO after experiencing a twin cam?
I love my 2004
Awesome!
Long live the dyna!!! Make Dynas great again!

Your AI skipped over the 1998 Anniversary Heritage Springer Softail…It was the 95th anniversary edition.
I have one and a video on my channel
Noted!
No Ai script here though, Sources are a 2003 book Harley Road Guide, the deadbeat customs website and personal choices for later models..
How can you forget the DELUXE!!!
Great bike!
at 4:06 what's the footage from?
A film called Wild Orchid
FXSTD
The Deuce!
2008 FlSTC
Heritage is a classic!

Some prefer a shock less look over the FX exposed shocks, For a buyer of a newer model that’s really all the choice the motor co gives the consumer
