if you put the molasses in the microwave for about fifteen to twenty seconds it pours out of the bottles a lot better, also I leave the pot of hot water on the stove and dissolve the salt on the stove, works great. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it. Good luck
I did a batch today...boiled the water , apple cider and had the molasses sitting in a pot of HOT water till I was ready to add. I didn't use a spoon , I opted for a 1/2" corded drill with a long paint mixer. Had the whole thing ready to go in less than 10 min. I'm in NC and can't wait to see how well it does.
I've tried almost the same thing Houndsman. Poured it over a huge tree stump and went back 2 weeks later to about 1/4 of the stump left. To bad the SD card on my camera was formatted and it never took any pictures! lol Replaced the card and put down another gallon and will be heading up to check it out this weekend. Awesome video and I have to agree you should put some trailCam pics up for your results! Happy Hunting Brother!!
Thanks bro, my first year of serious hunting, and in started already by planning plots and mimeral locks, as well as jars of peanut butter screwed to trees about 4 ft up. I will use this recipe as I was searching for deer butter and found your video!
Thanks for sharing, made this two weeks ago and put it out and the deer have already been tearing it up. Ive never had them hit a plain salt or mineral block like they have this mix.
All the stuff around here is 10+ dollars a gallon. It works, but at that price, does not work for me. This costs less than $20 for 4 gallons. This stuff has lasted up to 6 months in the ground and still attracting deer. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video, I was thinking if you went to home depo and bought a 1-2 foot paint mixer and put it in a hand held drill you could save some time and your arm stirring
I made this set up, the deer came the same night , mainly because they cross over the area normally. They come and take a few bites as if going to the candy store once in a while. I started using the sodium bicarbonate , now i omit it if they get a tummy ache they can get there own Tums LOL.
when I made mine I mixed it with my drill and a concrete mixing thing works great as long as you have a top on the bucket with a hole you can put the bit in.
You might try using one of those paddle bits they use in contracting for drills while mixing it up. Rig up a or find a way to attach it to an old stand mixer and get it running at a low speed after you add your water. It'll keep the mix moving and the salt dissolving and you can add your molasses and apple concentrate while the mix is still mostly hot too. That and you won't wear yourself out so much makin' it.
It didn't take me long to figure it out. After making 2 buckets I said screw this and got the mixing bit and the drill out. To hell with stirring lol. Thanks for the support!
Just made a batch. I found a pile of corn kernels left over from a field harvest and plan to pour your mix over the top. My land borders a large standing corn field so we'll see what happens. Thanks!
I'd like to see some trail cam video of them tearing it up before I go through the expense. It all costs. Just would like to see it in action. Looks promising.
that sure looks good ,but a brown mineral block for (cows) works real good also. it comes 50lb and i split it in have 2# 25 lb. blocks. one will last 4-6 month and the deer love it. good to put out in the spring . i have notice deer back off on the block in the fall
They back off this as well in the fall. What I like about the liquid is it infuses the ground and will stay there until after winter. Thanks for the support!
Why don't you start with the boiling water and as you add your dry ingredients it will start dissolving instantly and save you time in mixing it up so much to dissolve.
food for thought... When your boiling the cider, pull the caps off your molases bottles to thin it out a bit. just wear some gloves when you grab the bottles They will be hot.
Why do you still your mixture up with a drill and a paint stirrer , would be a lot easier. It would churn up everything including the apple concentrate and syrup. You could even re mix it when you get to the woods and spot you place it with a cordless drill and paint stirrer.
just tried this out for the first time.. guess i used to much molasses because everything overflowed all over the place... do you think it will still work or should i try another batch?
looks like good mix, but I can offer one helpful hint. next time put your bottles of molasses in the hot water when you boil it and it will thin and pour much quicker
Actually when I add the molasses I pour it out and just drop the bottles in and wash them out with the mix. Your right though if everything was hot it would take 5 minutes haha
OK... I just made a batch of this as we're heading for the woods to visit our stand... Hunting starts Oct 3. Question? Any idea as to how to keep the bears away from your stand with all this smelly good stuff??? tks
I honestly don't know enough to tell you. There are plenty of bears around here, but we only see them on our property at best once a year. Thanks again!
Have you ever tried just using apple soda? Instead of the apple concentrate and baking soda? Seems like you could kill 2 birds with one stone with apple soda but wasnt sure
+Will Garrison you can do that. I have poured it on rotten deadfalls and they destroy it. The rain is ok if it's in the ground it won't go anywhere as long as you poke a few holes in the dirt. Thanks for the support!
Actually that sounds like a great idea. I'm going to try that! Maybe put 1/2 in the ground, put the corn on top of it and pour the rest on the corn. That sounds like a really good idea. Thanks for sharing!
ENCON will hunt you down!! LMAO King Kuomo needs the money!! Get a hold of Buck Jam Persimmon, cattle mineral, fine stock salt and trace mineral salt (ratio 1:1:2) mix it on site and then pour the Jam over it. I know, deer in the People's Republic of New Yorkastan have no clue what persimmons are.. But they LOVE BJ Persimmon.. I heard that from a friend ;)
brown sugar, salt, baking soda, molasses, apple concentrate, some maple syrup. mix it all together and pour over turned up ground. Took me 15 seconds to say this, took you 11 minutes.
You knew the length of the video before you chose to watch it, so it seems to me you are the slow one. Additionally, you used his ingredients to make your sarcastic note, which did not offer any details, measurements, or field applications. Since you are being critical of a person who volunteered his time to share, and because you watched the video having knowledge of its length beforehand, I am curious. What type of DIY project have you provided viewers? How have you paid it forward or back or do you just troll, leech from others and then criticize after the fact?
Pard , my place isn't but 70 acres. My herd is a community herd. Maybe like me he doesn't have hundreds or thousands of acres to develop and build up a herd.
Tried this out by putting out a week ago and I went and checked out my game camera and deer are piled in on the one spot. Great video this stuff works
if you put the molasses in the microwave for about fifteen to twenty seconds it pours out of the bottles a lot better, also I leave the pot of hot water on the stove and dissolve the salt on the stove, works great. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it. Good luck

Did it work?
I’m in Nc too, did it work
I’m in nyc. It must’ve worked by now, no?

Looks like a good idea

Good video young man! Thanks for the recipe! Good hunting to you!
when I made mine I mixed it with my drill and a concrete mixing thing works great as long as you have a top on the bucket with a hole you can put the bit in.
I stared doing this after this video. Won't do it any other way now! Thanks for the support!
Awesome video i have to do this soon!
Tks... Will try this for the up coming season...
Thanks for the support!
Way to go dude! Good deer lure!
Thanks for the support!
If you put your lick on a tree stump it is better for the deer and particularly antler growth. Great recipe I am going to try this one out
just mixed up a batch of this gonna go put it down this weekend. Thanks for the video.!!!! I'll let ya know how it works for me.

Nice!
get the drill out and hook up a paint mixer to it works much faster for mixing. going to try this out
do you recommend pouring the brew on a pile of deer feed
awesome video,good luck to ya
Thanks for the support!
Just made a batch. I found a pile of corn kernels left over from a field harvest and plan to pour your mix over the top. My land borders a large standing corn field so we'll see what happens. Thanks!
works great
Glad it worked out for ya. Thanks for the support!
You should do a refreshed site with a new video and put a trail camera on it to show the activity
I'd like to see some trail cam video of them tearing it up before I go through the expense. It all costs. Just would like to see it in action. Looks promising.
Have you ever tried to make dry deer attracting and had any luck with it
subbed. what state? NH here
that sure looks good ,but a brown mineral block for (cows) works real good also. it comes 50lb and i split it in have 2# 25 lb. blocks. one will last 4-6 month and the deer love it. good to put out in the spring . i have notice deer back off on the block in the fall

They do sell big bags of dried molasses for animal feed; tried it once and the whole hollow wafted in sweet molasses!
If I were you I would take a rotted out log and pour it on the log and around it and they really love it
Would like some feed back from the ones that have tried the mixture,,Does it Work ?
Why don't you start with the boiling water and as you add your dry ingredients it will start dissolving instantly and save you time in mixing it up so much to dissolve.
when you put the bait out how how much longer after do you hunt? do you let it sit for a few days? great video thank you
jeff webber
Try some magnesium in it. Use the foot soak stuff from Walmart.
should keep that molasses in the water until it's ready to pour. That way it gets warm and runs out easier.
cool
Sounds like an excellent recipe, Though I plan to mix the salt into the water I am boiling and dissolve salt first.
Either way. It's a lot of salt so it will take a while either way. Thanks for the support!
found this video late but i used oatmeal and grits in the mix to make it a solid kinda it works great
Ok I have to try that, sounds like a really great idea! Thanks for the support!
would this work in snow?
try using a drill and a paint mixer
Just like mixing tea brother
food for thought... When your boiling the cider, pull the caps off your molases bottles to thin it out a bit. just wear some gloves when you grab the bottles They will be hot.
Trail cam photos?

Would this work for bears too .
just tried this out for the first time.. guess i used to much molasses because everything overflowed all over the place... do you think it will still work or should i try another batch?
I do it to. It's the baking soda. It's fine don't stress it.
I put this recipe out yesterday ill let ya ll know my results we ll see if these nebraska deer like it
looks like good mix, but I can offer one helpful hint. next time put your bottles of molasses in the hot water when you boil it and it will thin and pour much quicker

GaHoundsman
How often do you put this out?
They are still eating off it I have a video of how much they have dug to get to it. I put this out a while ago and it's now July still going.
Another video with a trail cam set up to show if it works or not!
Have you ever tried just using apple soda? Instead of the apple concentrate and baking soda? Seems like you could kill 2 birds with one stone with apple soda but wasnt sure
can you pour it on a stump or something of that nature and get the same results?
and does rain wash it away and is it still effective after a good rain
+Will Garrison you can do that. I have poured it on rotten deadfalls and they destroy it. The rain is ok if it's in the ground it won't go anywhere as long as you poke a few holes in the dirt. Thanks for the support!
You should put just a little bit of corn in there this way they'll find it much quicker
You could do that, but the deer's smell factor will pick the molasses and apples up PRONTO.
Good video but i pour mine on corn piles stumps but im not sayin thats the best way
Actually that sounds like a great idea. I'm going to try that! Maybe put 1/2 in the ground, put the corn on top of it and pour the rest on the corn. That sounds like a really good idea. Thanks for sharing!
why not use a drill with paint mixer
Hot boiling water. Mmmmmmm. But it was a good and informative videos I gave a like.
just a fyi it works good too.
Thanks for the support!
you remind me of Bubba from forest gump
You should make it a solid maybe freeze it.
Use a drill and a paint mixer
Killed a big doe and a spike with this last year. They always come to this rather than corn.
Glad to see its working great! Thanks for the support!
can you use baking soda
BackWoods garage sodium bicarbonate is baking soda. Just comes in a bigger bag. Thanks for watching!
Does it work?????? Somebody let me know. Thanks
he let you know it works. why ask others?
Where do younger the big bags of sodium bicarbonate?
Pool store. Or feed stores have it around here you might find it in a feed store.
Thanks!
Bill VanDusen ,,,,,,don’t you just love spellcheck,,,,, you get = younger 😀😀😀
Them bottles of molasses in NY would be $5-$6 apiece
ENCON will hunt you down!! LMAO King Kuomo needs the money!! Get a hold of Buck Jam Persimmon, cattle mineral, fine stock salt and trace mineral salt (ratio 1:1:2) mix it on site and then pour the Jam over it. I know, deer in the People's Republic of New Yorkastan have no clue what persimmons are.. But they LOVE BJ Persimmon.. I heard that from a friend ;)
Why don't you pour it on a stump so the deer don't have to eat dirt. Good video.
good bear bait lol
Fred HUNTER
I would not use the salt just use the sodium bicarbonate
I keep watching these videos , but they never show the deer being attracted to the area
I made a foaming mess when the sugars and baking soda met.
2 gallons became 6+ gallons quickly and I didn't use as much baking soda as you did. Everything else was the same measurements.
didnt work for me
just plane apple cider or apple cider vinger
Jacob Gregory Apple Cider
sorry but I couldn't hear what the apricot stuff was
There was no apricot stuff. Maybe you are thinking of Apple concentrate. Thats in the green cylinders.
Y just can't add the salt to the boiling water
No way in hell that was cheaper than $20, unless you shoplifted.
brown sugar, salt, baking soda, molasses, apple concentrate, some maple syrup.
mix it all together and pour over turned up ground.
Took me 15 seconds to say this, took you 11 minutes.

@@431cruiser cut him some slack cruise. I mean what can you expect from someone that calls himself ReaL Mud?
You 2 fuk wads need to get a life.
At least he is not being a keyboard warrior wacking off in his mom's basement like y'all are!!!!
Whatever eats that while your not watching is gonna have some fucked blood pressure.
tried it don't work..deer never touched it, might work where you live but not here
Where is here?
No ingredient in this video is good for your deer herd.
Pard , my place isn't but 70 acres. My herd is a community herd. Maybe like me he doesn't have hundreds or thousands of acres to develop and build up a herd.
Use fine stock salt.. $7 for 50lbs LOL Good video.
