The thing that currently holds me back from the van is finding one that’s reasonably priced.
I know everyone loves their van and they put a lot of sweat equity in it, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna pay you retail for the van, Modifications, And your sweat equity at $30 an hour after you’ve lived in it for two years.

Have a 2017 Roadtrek 190 Popular on a Chevy 3500 chassis. Chose that because of cost of any mechanical work that it might need and the amount of people that can work on it. While Sprinters are nice they have less interior space because there not boxy like Transit and Rams. I also prefer not to have a diesel but that's just me. To be honest, full time vanlife is not as easy as living in a regular house so before you sell everything and hit the road, try it for some short trips. Good luck!

Houseless and People on a Budget are 2 REALLY growing groups. Many of us aging people just can't afford to retire and keep a house or apartment. I CAN pay $600/month van payment, but there's no way I can afford $1500/2000 for a CHEAP apartment in a safe neighborhood.

True. I got into van travel as pretty much my only mode to get out and see something out of. Now I’m looking for a slightly bigger van to accommodate my needs after 2 years of putting it into practice 😊

is always fun to listen to a businessman. For me, buying a van that is worth almost as much as a house or more, I find that ridiculous and to have it park on my driveway 90% of the time is like having two morgues. I bought a 19 foot trailer with a solar system and I droved this trailer everywhere without any problem. but if you can afford to buy a van go for it. just saying.
Same. There's no way I can afford a house AND a van. So if I ever get to retire, I'm going to need to sell everything and get a van. At least that way I can part in each of my 3 son's yards for a bit of time. Hoping I can find a bit of land with a pole barn and electric. Then I can park my van in the pole barn in the winter and still use the van as my living space.

I'd love to get one, but I don't want to pay almost as much as I paid for my house! My ability to retire will depend on how much I can get for my house when I sell it, and if I can find a van I can pay cash for. I live in Michigan, and the plan is to travel to Wisconsin where I have 2 sons, then the UP of Michigan where I have another son. Driveway surf in the Spring, Summer, Fall, then try to find someplace to live in the winter.

Unfortunately new van availability of the dealer lot has not improved, try to get a new sprinter or transit mid roof nicely equipped and not white in NYC metro area

Because there are a lot of singles and a lot of single retirees I’m out of them want to meet each other and do meet up

If there are ppl willing to overpay for a brand, I guess why would they make it cheaper? The lesser quality vans from Thor, Jayco, WInnabego seem to be the only ones who target the affordable van market. Or upfitters like Wayfarer Vans who offer standardized, affordable conversions with basic stuff.
You can buy a second hand Winnebago Boldt right now for about $110 to $120 asking, quite a good vehicle for the price. Also lots of Revels in that range as well, just need to be sure you get one with native lithium.
Im searching, but there are two things on a Class B... I need a shower/bathroom and cook space. Other wise, I would be in one last year. I love the MB Revel. I watch YT Van video's. In my heart, I'm a Class A believer 24 to 27', but I like off-road getaways, trails, and all of the Baja playa, too.

Great video and content from your channel. I’m so close to diving in. Hangups: I want to use as a daily driver, and it’s just my wife and two daughters. Considering a standard roof (also not to upset the HOA too much). I saw in one of your other videos you said “friends don’t let friends buy low roof vans” lol. Having doubts about my choice. I’m 5’9 and can mostly stand in a stock crew sprinter van. Insulation, floor and ceiling likely make things smaller in a conversion. I’m honestly just stuck.
