I can hear the disappointment in your voice after dealing with substantial flaws and wrongs on practically everything you build. I did have to smile a little bit cause I can just hear “again” after everything you point out 😆. But, you may pick out intentionally to provide ya with the how to. I must say you are the “scientist” of model building. All your builds are at or near museum pieces. Devoted follower.. keep on building!

I gave up on Eduard long time ago for exactly the same reasons. It's nice to have a somewhat complex model but why bother if the fit and general engeneering just isn't acceptable.

Perfectionism without perseverance is a curse. You have both qualities and your builds are absolute masterpieces.

Great video! it helps a lot to understand the though process of assembling a model properly, It would be great if the video was in 1080p resolution, I found 720p a bit lacking for a video so interesting.

I whish there were more people who did real build reviews like this. I also like to hear everything you could possible find to squawk about and then I can be the judge if its a deal breaker or not. I am a big proponent of being proactive on addressing parts that do not fit as well as I would like. Fixing fit errors before they are even offered up to be a permanent part of the kit can often save lot of filling, sanding and the inevitable wiping out of surface detail. Watching these review lets someone know what parts to look out for and a chance to apply a fix before hand. Keep up posting up these great videos!

Totally agree regarding the leading edge inserts….next time I encounter one I might consider cutting it in half and install the upper and lower parts (separate) in each wing half before final assembly.

great episode Paul, I can see the attraction with the prototype, but if the kit can’t deliver without attention to each part, understandably it will soon sour the enthusiasm, sad actually

This is great, Paul! I agree that it really captures the 'look' well, that's something I think is undervalued in the market today.

I’m now envious of anyone that picked up this kit who now have an in-depth look into the challenges and pitfalls of building it.

I have inly built a few kits in the last 309 years because I got into building and flying RC , my last kit until now was a Hasegawa Feissler Storch. Back in the 70s and 80s I don't remember seeing ANYONE making the leading edge of the wings gun ports moulded separately. I just bought my first kit, a 1/32 Mustang D by Revell and what do you know... Moulded wing gun ports/ leading edge. I'm looking forward to getting back into it. Warbirds in 1/32 but due to their size jets and more modern aircraft must be in 1/48. One of my favorite cold war jets being the Vigilante, the Hustler (they still make that same dull kit by Monogram as I built 40 years ago) and the A-6, A-7. There are just so many new manufacturers plus Euro brands that were not common place compared to back then. We used to use all oil paints but no more... Humbrols used to be the shit.

I did purchase this kit along with the offered aftermarket one piece weighted wheels, and landing gear. Of course from Eduard. But after watching your review, I getting the same dread as building another "Tan plastic" Eduard kit. Which does suck. Luckily I do have Tamiya kits in my stash, which I will build before and after this kit so I won't grow to hate this hobby. I should have known, Eduard & Special Hobby, like drinking & driving, they don't mix. Thanks for all your pointers for a successful build
