    God bless you bro. I suffer anxiety and depression and now I thank God for every day. The days that are the worst are the days we grow the most. The gratitude helps us focus on how blessed we are rather than us thinking of negative stuff.

    Really good to see you back Richard. I bought a Gordon Smith Classic T back in April for my 50th after a couple of hours trying loads of different guitars in the shop. Lovely burst finish on swamp ash body, humbucker in the neck and rosewood neck. What a great guitar and thanks to Jon for his advice. Really like the walnut, gold not quite my thing though. Also really enjoy your anxiety channel, my son suffers badly so I find the insight really helpful. Keep up the good work, I may catch you to say hello when I’m passing, or coming to try a Gatsby…… don’t tell my wife!

    I've known how good Gordon Smith guitars were in the early 1980s when I said to a great guitarist who took lessons from a great artist similar to joni Mitchell which Gibson or Fender he wanted. He said I much prefer playing a Gordon Smith. They are even better and bespoke now and great quality and value.

    I do like the look of that FBird style but alas no room for it right now. Next purchase (soon) will be for an acoustic and most probably from you, I keep an eye on your site to see what comes in. My last purchase was around 3yrs ago and that was from you, an Eastman Romeo SC. It's great to have in the rack!
    Re: connecting with direct manufacturer and getting the referral... Human nature is a bugger. Most people will go out of their way not to do it. Suggestion, see if you can facilitate a free strap (funded by GS) or something similar if they mention you when placing the order. Human nature likes free stuff lol (especially if it's halfway decent)

      @patchevansbrokencountry2583 Рік тому

      @@RichardsGuitarshop Exactly, fly on the wall. Plus I like to see how other guitar players make their decisions. My experience of other sellers is that they know less about their stock than I do. They are much better than when I started in the 70's, but I think that your videos (which already show how you outclass other sellers) demonstrate how a sympathetic retailer can help the customer rather than simply milk them. Cheers. PS did you get a response about the poor customer support you highlighted re Martin? Thought not.

      Hi. I call it the "Currys" experience. That sinking feeling when you ask someone in Currys the details of a PC, TV or appliance and they know less about it than you do - and they try and read what they can off the card!!! Its as embarrasing for the buyer as it is the seller as you just feel terribly sorry for them. This is exactly why we exist - to ensure you get help - when you need it - and not pushed down your neck. We provide private appointments so we generally know in advance the requirements and recommendations we will be making. We put the guitars out for the customer - go through the recommendations explaining why they are recommended and then generally speaking it is up to the customer to shout as and when they need us and in the mean time we just make them feel as at home as possible.

      Patch,
      This won't help much but here goes....... within the the last month I made an appointment with Richards staff to look at buying an Eastman T59v, once there, they fixed a small issue that I had with my current guitar showed me the Eastman and the other guitars that they had in stock talked about them all a little then left me with the guitar(s) and amp with the message enjoy yourself try the Eastman and try everything else here. Now the Eastman was terrific but in the end I decided not to go for it at the moment. I had a play with the other guitars too and there were some crackers nevertheless I stuck with my current guitar. Richard's staff couldn't have been happier with my decision they just wanted to know that I'd had a good chance to try the guitar(s) out and had enjoyed the no pressure experience. Would I want the experience filmed......no sir I would not ........would I recommend Richard's shop and approach YES I absolutely would and when I'm really ready to buy another guitar guess where I'm going to ..........yep back to Richard's.
