The legendary, kind, beautiful, Karen Carpenter. This does not get any better and this from a 70's hard rocker. And she is considered one of the best female drummers ever.

And still a lot of hard rockers and others still don't...they'll say she wasn't their cup of tea....their 🏠 st lying...and I don't like liars like the current administration.

    Karen was amazing.
Pitch perfect & clear (w/o auto tune.)
    Beautiful, rich tone.
    3-octave range.
    Incredible breath control.
    Impeccable diction.
Seamless transition between her upper & lower registers.
And she makes you FEEL every word!!
(And Richard knew how to make the arrangements - instrumentation, timing, etc. - that fit them perfectly. Add their tight harmonies and… pure PERFECTION!)

Great brother & sister duo from the 60's-80's. Karen was one of a kind. There will never be another like her. She had such a pure calming voice. And she was a terrific drummer. That was her passion even more than singing. Sadly we lost her so young. Thankfully we have her legacy left in her music. The Carpenters had so many great songs such as "We've Only Just Begun", "Superstar", "Close To You", "For All We Know", "A Song For You", "Goodbye To Love", "Top Of The World", "Sing", "Yesterday Once More", "I Won't Last A Day Without You", "Please Mr. Postman", "Only Yesterday", "There's A Kind Of Hush (All Over the World)" & so many more.

Pure voice indeed! No autotune! Since Cloty loves the rain, you should check out Eddie Rabbit song "I Love a Rainy Night"! Rest in Paradise Karen! 🤠

Sibling duo The Carpenters charmed the world with their soft-rock sound in the '70s. Led by inimitable singer Karen Carpenter, the group placed 15 singles atop Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart and notched 12 top 10 hits on the Hot 100, including the chart-toppers "Top of the World," "Please Mr. Won 3 Grammys! I was fortunate enough to attend a few of their concerts. My 1st ever concert was The Carpenters in the San Francisco Bay Area around 1970.

It's sad that Karen Carpenter starved herself to death because she couldn't see what we all saw -- that she was a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice.

I cry when I think of her because your analysis is spot on. I feel for her because I have overcome self-image problems as well. But I overcame. I wish I could have known her to tell her how beautiful and talented she was, inside and out. I adore and miss your presence, Karen, but God bless you for the gifts you left us.

Great reaction to the legendary Carpenters and Karen. It’s what made me find your channel and I subscribed. I was a little surprised that the young lady knew more than grandpa! LOL But you both knew and I’m impressed. I’m going to request another Carpenters song bit this one is from March. Not March 1971, March 2024! March 2nd to be exact. Karen’s birthday, in heaven and this was made in her honor. How about that? A cover of a Carpenters song. Those don’t come along very often and few if any are or will be this good. I know what I’m saying as this is not my first request for this song.
The man at the help of this project is Jim Wilkas. He’s wanted to make a Carpenters cover for a very long time. He and his musician friends have made songs together but they didn’t have THE voice. Then he saw a video and he knew she had THE voice. She agreed to do the project and the cover of We’ve Only Just Begun was created. Tori Holub (haw luhb; soft vowels) is singing lead and backing vocals. Jim, backing male vocals and multiple instruments as well as producing the whole thing. A group of musicians from around the world and here we have it. I’m an OG Carpenters fan, my age is between you two, I’m guessing. Oh did I mention in addition to all the musicians being Carpenters fans, 20 year old Tori is in my eyes a super-fan.
I see a PayPal link. I’m going to make this a donation request. I don’t see an amount so I hope it’s appropriate. I like the vibe and love of music of my time. Keep up the good work and it’s on to 10K and beyond! I’ll make a comment in the donation to this comment and link. And I’m just …

An amazing musician and singer who tragically died young with so much left to give.

I'm with you! People who need constant sunshine are more easily prone to depression, in my opinion.

Karen had an unusually low register and is one of the most unique sounding voices ever. Tori Holub, a 19 year old has a similar voice, maybe 90%+ sounding like Karen. It's so unusual to hear someone that young enjoying music of the 70's style. Gives me hope? So, Tampa Bay huh. I grew up in Tampa in the 60's-70's. Moved to the West coast in 1980 to get married. And no, I DON'T miss the humidity. Or the gators and sinkholes. And now there's giant snakes?! What did Florida do to anger whichever serpent god? Dang. I do miss snorkeling in Tampa Bay. In the winter. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sadly, Karen died at 32! She had inner demons related to self esteem since her teen years; suffered from body dysmorphia which lead to anorexia nervosa which contributed to heart failure.
