How to convert your 4 gallon backpack sprayer to a battery powered sprayer. If you currently have a 4 gallon sprayer, you need to make this upgrade. If you are generally in the market for a backpack sprayer, you may better off to build one, vs buy one from the big box stores.

Interesting, I didn’t know you could convert a pump sprayer.
Oh Doug...I can convert anything! 🤣
Very cool. Think I’m going to make one thanks for the vid.
You're welcome! I have already sprayed 3x what I did last year because of it! So handy.
I like what you did but I think I would mount a small air pump on the tank and keep the setup as is.
That could maybe work. The question would be if the air pump could keep up as well as the water pump. With the air pump, as the volume of the fluid drops, you need to pump more air to keep pressure. With the water pump, the volume of the fluid in the tank doesn't alter the amount of work the pump has to perform to make it operate as it should.
I literally just bought a ryobi backpack sprayer a week ago. It was $160 with a battery and charger.
Ahh I was a touch late in posting! Works out if you have other Ryobi tools, but pain if that's your only one and you only have one battery.
@Indy Farm life. Very cool and very clean job. Thanks for the idea. Awesome video keep them coming
Thanks! It has worked really well thus far!
I never use a sprayer. My pressure washer has an internal soap mixing valve.
Never have to spray anything where a pressure washer can't conveniently go?
@@IndyFarmLife Nothing needs spray, I never use pesticides, herbicides and the only thing I really spray is degreaser for engines or equipment.
This seems like a lot of work when I could buy one that is already set up without all the components for it to work, maybe all the time you spend putting all that together is not worth anything to you
I enjoy working with my hands and sharing knowledge with others, so I don't consider it time wasted. I already had the backpack sprayer, so why throw it away and buy a new one? Plus, I now have about 7 batteries for this one if needed. Some people may not have the means to go out and buy a high priced battery powered backpack sprayer. If I helped at least one guy get what he needs, then my time was definitely worth it.
