This speaks to me of the authentic Ronnie who was speaking his truth to a 'steeples audience who didn't get it. Perhaps he dumbed down a little after this in order to feed the children. It was never profitable to speak out the horrific truth about wars.
I love the distinked voice of Ronnie Drew, I try to imagine a flow of filthy language coming from Ronnie's lips, and of how good it would sound. He could say "Fuck" much better than I. It wud sound much more convincing.
This might be the oldest footage I've seen from any of the later Dubliner's members. Does anyone know from when this recording is? Also where is that? Such an interesting audience and setting (nice fireplace in a studio).

This is from the Rte show Ballad Sheet filmed in 1969
