Love your humility in reviewing your own book. Love how you don’t take yourself too seriously and you put yourself out there and don’t pretend to be anything but who you are. Thank you for the helpful videos!
I do these (3:00 reps with 1:00 jog rests) and they have helped make me a better 5k, 10k, and HM runner. The short rests are really great at keeping the focus on stamina while also making the workout feel doable. And the 10k-ish pace has nice race specificity for the 5k-HM road race distances.
Hi Sage! My suggestion for a future training talk topic: cross training for runners, especially training that helps developing the aerobic system with little or no impact, such as swimming and biking. Note that this comes from a runner that is still getting used to the sport and can't really handle running everyday, but still wants to seize time and build a solid aerobic base! Can't thank you enough for the channel's content, it's simply awesome!
Mug has been ordered.. Waiting for it :) BTW I bought HOKA shoes. I was born in Germany and grew up there so always had Adidas. When I went to the running store in NYC they saw how I run so they suggested Hoka Arahi. They said I need some support or something like that. Looking forward running with them :)
@@Vo2maxProductions thank you for the great info and tips. It felt strange wearing shoes that are not Adidas. I think it will take few more runs to get used to the HOKAs :)
Great job loved the video, worst commercial ever, please repaint the old PBS Zoom wall, throw out the 8 Mile furniture outlet couch, and keep up the great work, I have always loved the concept behind critical swim speed.
i had originally signed up for it as I believe it is a faster course than Houston (however I have run in the 2:19:50s in both races!). CIM usually gets way more OTQ guys as well (there are actually packs to run with!) ....but It was too soon after Nepal though.....I need the extra time to train for the roads again. Fingers crossed for good weather in Houston! Did you race today? How did it go?
I’m excited to read your book, sounds like the honest truth of how you felt at the time....I’m training for Boston 2020, so maybe a pointer or two in there?
Hello Sage and cheers from Germany. Thanks as usual for your video. Got one short question: When you talk about the 2:30 rest in the Vo2max workout. Do you actually mean resting i.e. not moving at all? Or simply running really really slow?
You going to Make me Think this morning?...not awake yet...Stamina Forrest? I will review again. or view for the first time.// looks like you got some bling...looks good.
Early to mid season and then even as a taper workout (but lower volume). Pretty much a lot of the time! Probably want to start first with some higher mileage and Tempo/Uptempo runs and then maybe Fartlek and some long runs/strides though. This is unlike true Vo2max workouts or hard anaerobic intervals.
When would you start this “cv” work? I’ve been coach for years and I’m always trying to learn. For instance with XC season for the month of June I mainly just do mileage or mins for my athletes (some have already been running since some or most of May), then in July I do a 3200m time trial to train at right now fitness level and I introduce hill repeats. Towards the end of July or beginning of August we start more interval work. Would I be starting this stuff too late? Should I start more stuff in June or July? We also start tempos in July. Again I’m always trying to learn! Thanks in advance!
This kid needs to get a job...it is patently clear he cannot attain elite marathon or running status... Starbucks,,,Home Depot, or Carvel if he is lucky

Sage, I was hoping to see you at CIM this year?! Definitely a good OTQ course for you.

Would you consider CV workouts to be the same as VO2Max workouts? Would they produce the same effect/benefit?
Thanks
So threshold pace and cv pace is pretty much only 5 seconds apart?

Hi! where is the file on pace intensity spectrum diagram? I couldn't find it in your site. Thanks

Is there any specific time during the season that you should be doing these workouts

I would do CV work mostly in base training or in a very high mileage week as I progress in a half or full marathon training!
Do the mugs ship to Canada?
First!.....

You may not like the guy, but he is still an elite, weather you like it or not.
He makes a living doing what he loves. I’d say he’s doing great
