I'm international but that festival yarn is so pretty! I love spending my morning with you while knitting. I finished my husband's hitchhiker earlier this week, so today was socks for me
I always enjoy listening to your reflections and appreciations on the craft. Like when you talk about what you learned, and why it's good to challenge yourself, etc. It's nice to hear the more mindful and intentional approach you seem to have towards this craft.
Excellent content presented in an articulate, well thought-out way! What a resource you are to the knitting community. Thank you SO much for sharing your journey. Your attention to every detail is a unmatched. Please stop worrying about the length of your episodes because I wish they were longer. Thank you!
As always, this was a very entertaining and enjoyable episode. While listening, I knitted on Ina’s Klud. Congrats on achieving a new subscribers milestone!
Your colourwork is stunning as always. It's great to see how you combine the different yarns and how colourful it turns out each time. I'm looking forward to going to a fiber festival myself for the first time sometime in the future.
I watch both you and baubles and berries so love the thought of the two of you together. We only have two yarn festivals a year where I live but the first was last weekend and I got to go with two friends and my mom and it was awesome! I know that overwhelming feeling though- so much goodness all in one place!
I Love the joy you exude during your podcasts , it adds to the inspiration I take away after viewing. I'd so love to get my hands on some of that gorgeous looking Kinross wool. Your single malt turned out amazingly! You've got me thinking about the April cardigan. I've not knitted a cardigan since becoming a top down knitter. In July a friend and I are off to the National Australian Sheep and wool show which is held about 2 hours north of where I live in Melbourne It's a big event held over 3 days so we've got accommodation up there and are ready for full emersion... my first wool show, Im excited already :) Thanks for another great podcast :)
Thank you for the lovely comment, that full immersion yarn show sounds amazing, I hope you have lots of fun ! I've only knitted 2 cardigans so far but I am now hooked and want to make lots more, there are tons of nice patterns out there. Hope you can get some kinross one day, or something similar :)
Congrats to over 2500 subscribers! 🎉While watching I've been working on "Summer Jimmy Jab" test knit for The Woolly Badger. Your excitement over testing the Primrose Slipover encouraged me to apply for test knits. Thank you for that! And also for all the lovely videos. Can't wait for the next one.
As soon as you popped in the screen I thought “wait…isn’t that the boyfriend sweater?” Glad I was right! I’m just so so happy I found you! Your videos are so fun and I love watching them while working on projects (you also often keep me company at the gym).
Your burra cowl 😍 The colorwork is beautiful!! I am also knitting a fingering weight sweater for the first time and finding it unexpectedly satisfying! That's funny that you are also talking about patterns that have you put one stitch market for the raglan instead of two- I am knitting the Terazzo sweater (an older petiteknit pattern for sure) and she has you put just one stitch marker on the raglan - and it was so much harder to keep track! I went ahead and put two stitch markers, it worked in this case since it was just a simple raglan and not a compound raglan. I recently learned about compound raglans and am really interested in trying a pattern with it at some point! Loved this episode!!
Thank you!! So interesting to read from different pattern designers. You really get used to a style and then it throws you off your game when it's written differently. Which is why im trying to branch out this year ! Looking forward to see what patterns you end up doing this year too. Glad you enjoyed it!
Keep the sweater you can make your boyfriend another one that’s chunky and bigger. That color looks really good on you. All of your projects are beautiful!!! I love that you can pick who wore what at the yarn show !!! That sounded like so much fun. I’m so glad you had a good time. Can’t wait to see all the projects to come !!! Great video!!! Thank you !!
another lovely episode! I’m actually just watching while on the treadmill at the gym hah. forever and always thinking about knitting right? I’m really glad to see your enthusiasm about the april cardigan 🌼 now I can’t wait to cast on mine ☺️
Thank you for another great episode. The single malt for your boyfriend looks so good👌 I have knitted it both for my husband and for my oldest son. Such a great pattern. Right now I am knitting on a Sorrel in a pink fade. Looking forward to your next episode😊
Congratulations on reaching a new subscriber milestone! As a relatively new knitter I am always inspired by your beautiful makes and incredible talent. I have picked up so many tips since you started podcasting in January - thank you! #perth
i'm so excited hearing you talk about your black sweater, i love knitting with black and it's very uncommon to see in podcasts, can't wait for you to cast it on. and even if the dartmoor ended more grey than black, the yarn combo looks really amazing and eye catching! also, impossible not to mention, your colourwork is just unreal, gorgeous, i'm speechless i just love looking at it
Aw thank you so much !! i am so looking forward to using more black yarns, I feel much less daunted by it now. And I love the colourwork too, the yarn does all the work I swear, it's a perfect choice!!
Hi Vanissia! I prewashed my Kinross 4ply and it made the knitting experience sooo luxurious. So I totally recommend prewashing yarn, and I found it not too much work. Just soak the skeins in warm water with a little bit of dish soap (for washing out spinning oil), and then in some lukewarm water with leave in wool soap (lukewarm because by that time everything will not be as warm anymore). Then just hang the skeins to dry (might take some time and dripping) and cake it up. Marijke
Hi Vanissia, Congrats on your subscriber milestone! That Single Malt sweater is absolute perfection!! Also the color is so beautiful and looks great on both you and your boyfriend ( he is adorable and a natural at modeling!) Your joy over attending your first knitting festival brought me back to memories of my first and how it felt to come home with so many special treasures - just the best experience!! I always look forward to your videos and am glad you will be doing a feature on fingering weight sweater patterns. ( I am in Massachusetts, not the UK)
Yarn festivals are so fun! My sister and I go to Stitches West which is held in California. Everyone is so friendly and yes, we love to talk about our projects. Love all your projects too
congrats for the milestone !!! Your April cardigan is so beautiful and this color 😍😍😍 I was looking for what to pair with the flora yarn I have in stash and I think I found it ! The colorwork is amazing too. I have never been to a yarn festival (I don't think it's a thing here in Belgium) but I really want to go to one someday. that would be amazing to meet other knitters
Thank you so much!! And yeah, it's a really pretty colour, a bit hard to capture. I wish there were more festivals in scotland but we are lucky with the one we have ! Maybe there are some in neighbouring countries?
I love hearing about your projects and I’m excited to see how your dartmoor turns out since that pattern has been on my list for a while too. I’ve been working on a champagne cardigan and bought some shell buttons for it earlier today! Congrats on 2500!
Awesome! I find it so hard to pick buttons. I bet your champagne looks lovely. The dartmoor is turning out exactly how I want it, i highly recommend the pattern so far :)
Hi Vanissia, I am so happy for you that you were able to go to the yarn festival in Perth, I had no idea it was on last weekend! But I signed up for their newsletter and will attend the one in September as going to a yarn festival is one of my personal goals for this year. The jumper for your boyfriend is beautiful, he must be super delighted about this special present. I am currently not working on my knitting project which would be my first colourwork baby cardigan as I am waiting for a needle to arrive by post. But I can't wait to keep knitting, I am hooked to colourwork now! #perth
Hi Susanne, I am so glad you signed up for the newsletter, hope you make it! baby knits seem to be super satisfying as they work up faster. Hope you get that needle soon :D x
Thank you so much for always taking the time to insert pattern photos and B-roll! I'm sure it's a ton of work but it is very, very appreciated. It's especially fun (and interesting! and useful!) to see garments in motion. :) Your Single Malt sweater turned out SO GOOD!!! The fit looks so perfect and comfortable, especially considering you had to do a little bit of extra gauge math. I've been dying to try Kinross 4-Ply but have yet to find any way to acquire it in Canada. :') Might do a ridiculous international purchase one of these days.
Also I TOTALLY know what you mean about fingering-weight sweaters becoming the favoured project, hahaha. I recently finished the Azor sweater and knit on it obsessively for the past week at the exclusion of everything else. For some reason I don't get that as much with heavier-weight sweaters...! Maybe it's because they shape up so fast and it's quicker to get a sense of how they'll fit/if they'll work out.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment !! It is a lot of work to edit like that but I find it so much better as a viewer when others do that, so it's worth the effort !! And I agree, video shows off the knitting better than pictures can ! Yeah the fit is great !! I hope you get some kinross one day or something similar ! Definitely makes me want to try all the 4-ply sweaters, like you say it can be almost obsessive in the best way!
The single malt looks great on you. My first yarn festival was in 2018. It was Fibre East. Love meeting other makers knitters dyers and yarn lovers. Keep on knitting #Perth
#perth - again a lot of interesting projects and useful details. Glad you enjoyed the showcase. Heaven wandering round looking at all the wools. Thanks for puttering in all the work required in editing for others to enjoy. It’s a lot. Sadly not knitting and watching this time as I have covid and lost my mojo for anything. I’m sure it’ll come back when I feel better 😊
Hi Vanissia, another great podcast! I love watching what you make and the yarn that you buy. I find I’m adding nearly everything to my queue or my favourites and wishing I could knit faster 😂 I’m currently knitting my granddaughter a Summer Cardigan by Petite knit but I’m about to cast on a Tabouli cardigan by Carole Feller, her Nua sport yarn is gorgeous,it’s so soft. Talking about soft lace weight yarns, I bought a couple of skeins of Tibetan Cloud Fingering by Lotus Yarns at a crafting festival in Exeter last week to hold with an Alpaca, Merino, silk dk I have. Don’t be fooled by the name, it’s definitely lace weight (450m to 50g) and it’s 100% Yak. It feels like cashmere so I’m excited to start on this, I just haven’t decided what yet, I’m thinking of a Ranunculus. Congratulations on your 2500 subscribers, your podcast is one of my favourites. #Perth
Hey, thanks for the lovely comment, I know what you mean, when I first started watching podcasts, I was getting so inspired and adding everything to my favourites !! That yarn sounds amazing, hope you enjoy whatever you end up making ! Ranunculus seems like a good idea for that quantity. Enjoy!
congrats on 2500 subscribers! it's always fun to see what you're working on. i just cast on my second weekend v-neck slipover in a springy blue color because i got tired of working on the sleeves of my boring tee lol
Really enjoy your video! I think the colour of your Single malt sweater is beautiful, even though I do not lean towards brown usually. It is such a rich colour and it suits you and your partner very well! 😊
I love your yarn choices and finished sweaters. The malt is a lovely color. Your insights on the patterns is most helpful. Thank you. #Perth, that yarn is really pretty.
Congratulations on 2500! I am working on a test knit. It is an all-over colour work (fingering weight) sweater. I wish that we had yarn festivals here in Canada as you do in the UK. Ours are very few and far between...bit just in timing, but in distance! My dream is to one day go to the PEI Fibre Festival, but it would be an extremely expensive trip for me from Ontario. I live vicariously through you UK podcasters until then! I will look forward to seeing you again, soon. 😊
I hope you get to go to one at some point ! It was really great but I don't think I could do too many of them, and not the very large scale ones i've heard of. I have heard of PEI through Fruity Knitting, it looks like such a beautiful place !!! I really love Canada ♥
Love your Single Malt sweater, Vanissia! It looks fabulous on you both and congratulations on your great videography showcasing it… lovely footage.Been knitting whilst watching your podcast on a simple raglan cardigan using unspun yarn or pre yarn held together with Kidsilk mohair.Have you tried unspun yarn?It is a lovely knitting experience imo.Thank for your great podcasts once again(As you can see I am back tracking so to be sure I don’t miss any of them💕😊Xx
Thank you !! And thank you for mentioning the videography, these take some extra effort so it's great to be appreciated! I've not tried unspun but would like to ! Maybe even without a mohair strand ... glad you are knitting along the podcast ♥
Your boyfriend’s sweater looks amazing on him. Just wondering if the bind off you used on the cuff would be appropriate for toe up socks? I find even Jenny’s stretchy bind-off is not loose enough. I remember my first fiber festival, we never had anything until the last few years and it has tripled in size…awesome for the organizers and vendors…but panic sets in cause it is very overwhelming 😂😂😂congrats on 2500 subscribers!
Thank you so much and yes actually that would be a great idea for toe up socks ! It's definitely stretchy. It might take a bit of time to practice the tension to make it look neat and it might look a bit weird at first but it did block out ! And yes the panic totally set in aha !
Sometimes I wish I lived in Scotland! Australia just too far away to attend.. so a pattern would be nice. I enjoy your enthusiasm. Thanks for your podcasts.
I happened to go to a yarn festival alone this weekend (Spring into Wool in Leeds) and it was a super enjoyable experience. I did talk to a bunch of people (and some people approached me because they recognized my Robinia sweater! Which since I last commented I finished). I will aim to go to the September festival in Scotland! #perth
So cool! Wish I could have gone to that, it looked great. I would have totally spotted that robinia, i've had my eye on that pattern for ages !! Hope you enjoy scotland when you come !
Congrats! 2500 subscribers 🥳🥳🥳🥳 I am currently testing a beautiful vest / slipover for Fiber Tales :) cannot wait to finish it, it is such a lovely project 🌼
Your boyfriends jumper looks great on you ! It’s so nice to visit a yarn festival, my husband comes along with me a my guide 😂unfortunately I don’t know any other knitters. In a few weeks we have Wonderwool in Wales which I love. #Perth
Looking forward to the "10 T-shirts to knit this spring" video!! I'm currently knitting up my first tee as a test knit and I'd like to explore some more designs and what other folks are into 🤩 #Perth
After watching you talked about kinross, I rushed to be inspired knit to get lots and they are really amazing!! Thanks for sharing 😊 Also congrats for the milestone🎉🎉🎉 #perth
#perth. Congrats on your growing channel. I love your enthusiasm for your woolly works. I'm also knitting an April cardigan but it's seems slower progress than yours. I'm tempted to try a double knitted buttonband but not sure as I haven't done that before.
Thank you so much! It does look amazing and if you search for the instruction video for the champagne cardi button band it should work out! Just be careful when picking up the stitches! it is very satisfying to do, just slow
Another lovely podcast from you ❤ Esp thanks for your thoughts on the Single Malt sweater. Had been contemplating making it for my husband but after hearing your feedback, I think it's the wrong fie for him. Still want ro make it though, so maybe my brother will get an extra special gift from me 🤔
Congratulations on another milestone. My first ever yarn festival was Yarndale which is huge and was quite overwhelming but now I love it. it is definitely best to go with pattern ideas or a wish list in mind #perth
I’m a new knitter and left handed. I am working on a top down raglan. If the pattern calls for make 1 left or right would I make the opposite since I’m knitting left handed?
That depends, I am also left-handed, but I do my knitting the right-handed way, as that is how I learned it. Do you find yourself knitting the same way as right-handed knitters, if you watch youtube tutorials? Or are you knitting from left to right? I don't know much about left-handed knitting but if you follow NEKnits, she knits left-handed, so maybe ask her ! Good luck on your raglan !
I knit from left to right. I talked with some one that said I’m basically doing mirror knitting so just follow the pattern because I’m really doing everything opposite so it should all be done opposite. 🥴
#perth loving watching along!!!! Thanks for useful info about single malt sweater - will make an alternative as a result !!! Still love it, but close fitting won’t work for my fella. Steph
#Perth I was also at the festival and had a lovely time. It's a great idea to attend a festival with some pattern options in mind - I got a cone of Iona wool to make the pattern Sprig by Alana Dakos 🍃
Your all the knitting wonderful and I would love to have that beautiful skein of yarn in my collection#perth. I will put that yarn in my shifty sweater.
Having seen the single malt sweater on you and your boyfriends, its convinced me that there is a need for it in my partner's wardrobe (read mine) #perth
I'm international but that festival yarn is so pretty! I love spending my morning with you while knitting. I finished my husband's hitchhiker earlier this week, so today was socks for me
Wonderful!
I always enjoy listening to your reflections and appreciations on the craft. Like when you talk about what you learned, and why it's good to challenge yourself, etc. It's nice to hear the more mindful and intentional approach you seem to have towards this craft.
Wow, thank you! that's a really thoughtful comment, I'm glad you enjoy the podcast!
Excellent content presented in an articulate, well thought-out way! What a resource you are to the knitting community. Thank you SO much for sharing your journey. Your attention to every detail is a unmatched. Please stop worrying about the length of your episodes because I wish they were longer. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the lovely comment, it made my day!
Finally catching up on my podcasts! 😄 Your Single Malt turned out so beautifully! And you’re right, that brown really suits you. 😊
Yay, thank you! I am glad you think so. It really is a great pattern! Hope you enjoyed France ♥
As always, this was a very entertaining and enjoyable episode. While listening, I knitted on Ina’s Klud. Congrats on achieving a new subscribers milestone!
Glad you enjoyed it! And thank you very much :D
Your colourwork is stunning as always. It's great to see how you combine the different yarns and how colourful it turns out each time. I'm looking forward to going to a fiber festival myself for the first time sometime in the future.

I enjoyed this episode. I love your single malt. The colour is gorgeous and the slight sheen of the yarn really highlights the textured stitch.
Thank you so much! And yes I was so pleased with this yarn, and cascade have so many beautiful rich colours so tons of options!

Love that! I hope you like the fit of your april ! It will be so soft in your suri ♥
Thank you for another great episode. The single malt for your boyfriend looks so good👌 I have knitted it both for my husband and for my oldest son. Such a great pattern. Right now I am knitting on a Sorrel in a pink fade. Looking forward to your next episode😊
Thank you very much! I feel I might do another one in the future for sure! And the sorrel is beautiful !
I'm going to my first knitting festival soon - Wonderwool Wales. Interesting to hear about your experience. #Perth
That is so fun, wish I could go ! Hope you have a great time there !

You are so kind
i'm so excited hearing you talk about your black sweater, i love knitting with black and it's very uncommon to see in podcasts, can't wait for you to cast it on. and even if the dartmoor ended more grey than black, the yarn combo looks really amazing and eye catching! also, impossible not to mention, your colourwork is just unreal, gorgeous, i'm speechless i just love looking at it

Thanks for sharing!
Hello from Argentina and great podcast! love the boyfriend's sweater, it looks very good on you too. Congrats on your milestones!
Thank you so much! Can't wait to make more sweaters for him!
I really like to watch your podcast while knitting. The sweater for your boyfriend is beautiful! ❤
Thank you! 😊
congrats on 2500 subscribers! it's always fun to see what you're working on. i just cast on my second weekend v-neck slipover in a springy blue color because i got tired of working on the sleeves of my boring tee lol

Really enjoy your video! I think the colour of your Single malt sweater is beautiful, even though I do not lean towards brown usually. It is such a rich colour and it suits you and your partner very well! 😊
I totally agree! Definitely opens up possibilities in the future ! that colour also depends on the lighting so it's extra fun
Congratulations on all the subscribers for such a new podcast 😊 # Perth what a lovely prize 😀
Thank you! 😊
I love your yarn choices and finished sweaters. The malt is a lovely color. Your insights on the patterns is most helpful. Thank you.
#Perth, that yarn is really pretty.
Thank you so much! Glad it is helpful x
@@thewoollyworker Thank you. I hope so, too. PEI is a beautiful province.
Congrats on your subscriber milestone :) Love you podcast!
Thank you so much!!
Your Burra Cowl is gorgeous! I’m very inspired to make one. Tammi, the Wool and Wine podcast. Cheers! 🧶🍷
Thank you! 😊 I hope you do!
That cowl is looking amazing 😍 I really want to try a Marie Wallin pattern and I think that might be the one!!
Thank you so much ! i'd highly recommend the pattern for that then !! It's also my first marie wallin
You are very encouraging and enthusiastic. Thank you
Thank you so much!
I am international but loved spending my knitting time with you this morning 😊
Oh thank you!
Sometimes I wish I lived in Scotland! Australia just too far away to attend.. so a pattern would be nice. I enjoy your enthusiasm. Thanks for your podcasts.
Maybe one day! I'd love to see Australia. Thanks for the comment!
Love your podcast. I like the way you tell us the price of your knits once done. Look forward to your next xx #Perth
Thank you so much!
Your Dartmoor sweater is gonna look so good! I really want to try the Kinross 4ply yarn, I just haven’t decided on a pattern yet. #perth x
Thanks! It's working up really fast as it's a big gauge. And yeah I want to use the kinross for everything now aha !
Congrats to over 2500 subscribers! Love your acquisitions! I am currently working on a winter-sweater (Ilya) and a summer-sweater (Anker Tee).
Sounds great! And thank you :D
#Perth, congratulations on reaching 2500 subscribers. Hope to see you at Perth in September for the Scottish Yarn Festival
Thank you! And yeah, if you see me, come say hello !! I can't wait
Some beautiful makes, Vanissia! I hope to visit one of the #Perth yarn festivals some time soon! Perhaps see you there?
Hi Marie, thank you for saying that, I'd love to see you there if you visit ! I saw someone with an Avena Jumper there :)
@@thewoollyworker I just finished mine!!! I’ll be posting my video featuring it in the next couple of days ☺️
@MarieMadeThis oh great ! I don't sew but I'll follow your knitting updates !
The Single Malt looks so good on your boyfriend!! Well done. looks like you sized it PERFECTLY. (not in UK)
thank you so much ! I agree, the sizing turned out just right !
Congrats! 2500 subscribers 🥳🥳🥳🥳
I am currently testing a beautiful vest / slipover for Fiber Tales :) cannot wait to finish it, it is such a lovely project 🌼
Thank you and yay, that sounds good!
Hi! I really love your podcasts! Congrats on hitting 2.5k subscribers! :) #perth
Thanks so much! 😊
Your boyfriends jumper looks great on you ! It’s so nice to visit a yarn festival, my husband comes along with me a my guide 😂unfortunately I don’t know any other knitters. In a few weeks we have Wonderwool in Wales which I love. #Perth
Thank you! And yes, partners can be a great help aha! Have fun at wonderwool if you go !!
Looking forward to the "10 T-shirts to knit this spring" video!! I'm currently knitting up my first tee as a test knit and I'd like to explore some more designs and what other folks are into 🤩 #Perth
Sounds great! I'm also looking forward to knitting tees this year !
After watching you talked about kinross, I rushed to be inspired knit to get lots and they are really amazing!! Thanks for sharing 😊 Also congrats for the milestone🎉🎉🎉
#perth
I am glad !! hope you enjoy it. And thank you x
I love your podcast ❤ I might be in Scotland in September, so I'm eager to hear more about this big yarn festival!!
Would love to win a pattern, too 😄
Sounds great! Hope you enjoy Scotland and that you visit the perth festival ! it's on the 9th and 10th of sept
Still want ro make it though, so maybe my brother will get an extra special gift from me 🤔
Thank you! And I'm glad I could help, it is definitely a good pattern, just not oversized
Congratulations on another milestone. My first ever yarn festival was Yarndale which is huge and was quite overwhelming but now I love it. it is definitely best to go with pattern ideas or a wish list in mind #perth
Thank you! And yeah i can imagine!! I'll defo be prepared next time :D
Thanks for another great podcast! I loved the York Yarnfest recently. #Perth
Glad you enjoyed it!
That is a very beautiful yarn 😍
Congratulations on 2500 subscribers!
Thank you!
Steph
You're welcome ! And yes I think I am going to make the Hanstholm sweater by Petite Knit and maybe size up, to get 15 to 20cm ease?
#perth congratulations on your milestone. I can’t believe how much knitting you are getting through
Thank you! And yeah I have been very busy !
#Perth Congratulations on your 2.5k subscribers. Love your video's especially all the details you give in each of your FO's. Thank you !!!
Thank you so much!
#Perth I was also at the festival and had a lovely time. It's a great idea to attend a festival with some pattern options in mind - I got a cone of Iona wool to make the pattern Sprig by Alana Dakos 🍃
So cool! Hope you enjoy your yarn. It definitely would help to be more precise next time for sure !
Hi ..love all the nice things you are knitting 🧶
Thank you! 😊
Top marks to your boyfriend for his excellent modelling! The sweater is lovely and really suits him #perth
Thank you!! 😊 I think so too. We had a lot of fun x
Your all the knitting wonderful and I would love to have that beautiful skein of yarn in my collection#perth. I will put that yarn in my shifty sweater.
That's a really good idea !
Having seen the single malt sweater on you and your boyfriends, its convinced me that there is a need for it in my partner's wardrobe (read mine) #perth
Yay, join in on the fun!
Not from the UK but congrats on 2500 subscribers😊
Thank you!! 😊
#Perth thanks for the info about the wool festival that yarn is great
You're welcome :D
