This is so refreshing. I mean, we never hear about how good ND is early in the year. Its nice to see them getting a measured, unbiased, evaluation based on a single game.
People hate Notre Dame just like people hate alabama. It's for a reason. Amazing teams get a lot of hate. First people said texas a&m would win because of being an sec team and the crowd now after notre dame out muscled them and won people are saying" oh well, they were the 8th best sec team". Lol the hate is pathetic honestly
Forget perception. The truth is Colorado smashed Nebraska last year, and you're saying man for man this year Nebraska is better by and large then Colorado? We shall see.
12-0 is absolutely doable because of the defense. The schedule isn't the cakewalk you are thinking it is. There are probably 4-5 ranked teams on the schedule by the end of the season.
@@gilliganallmighty3that's a false notion. Georgia Tech will be ranked. Louisville will be ranked. A&M will start winning and remain ranked. Florida State could play their way back into a ranking. Miami or NIU could easily finish the season ranked.
I think wk 2 has some sneaky good matchups. I’m a die hard CFB fan so I’ll watch regardless of who’s playing. I’m looking forward to watching Tennessee vs NC St., Oregon vs Boise State, App state vs Clemson, Texas vs Michigan, and Arkansas vs Ok St.
Its wild because if we're being honest, he was a mid-level NFL QB at best, but probably lower tier. Yes, guys like Ian Book and Sam Hartman got drafted in recent history, but they haven't had a nationwide top 10 QB in decades. Eastern Illinois and North Dakota State have more successful QBs in the NFL. Its just a personal theory, but smaller school college QBs tend to do better in the NFL, because they have to do more, with less. They don't have 5 star guys blocking and catching for them so they get the ball out quick, read defenses better, etc if they're successful - Texas Tech isn't usually a good team, but Mahomes had them overachieving - Iowa State isn't usually a good team, but Purdy had them winning 8 games/year (rare for them, since Seneca Wallace) - Dak -> MS St. - Lamar -> Louisville - Allen -> Wyoming etc None fighting for a national championship. There are always exceptions (Hurts at Bama/OU, and CJ Stroud from Ohio St. etc) but I'll take a "good small school guy" any day. This may change with NIL since the "good small school guys" are now transferring 2 or 3x.
The advantage that TX does have... they just beat up Colorado State in their tune-up game. CSU is never a good team (a good year for them is 6 wins, and they like getting beat up for TV money) but to utterly dominate in all 3 phases, and shutout a team, is pretty impressive. Even Arch Manning got playing time. Michigan hasn't had a tune-up game, so they're going to be flying a bit blind at the start.
Good luck making the sark offense one dimensional when it's loaded with weapons at ever position. And idk how you move the ball in the 2020s without a QB. Y'all are probably cooked big M 🤘
