Dr. McConnell is one of the world's foremost experts on canine and feline behavior. She has a doctorate in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and wrote the book on understanding dog behavior (The Other End of the Leash). She is currently on tour for her newest book, The Education of Will, about dealing with trauma across species.
Dogs have a rich emotional life, but we dog lovers aren’t always adept at translating their expressions. Through videos, images and stories about her own traumatized Border Collie, Dr. McConnell translates the visual signals that dogs so desperately need us to understand.
