Vloeibare gips uitrijden op een perceel van akkerbouwer De Witte uit Steenbergen (N-B) met een Terra Gator 8103 van Gromes Plender BV uit IJselmuiden. Vloeibare gips wordt voornamelijk aangewend voor de structuurverbetering van de grond.
Liquid Lime Application using a Terra Gator 8103 trike. Liquid Lime is mainly used for improving the structure of the soil and improve growing conditions.
On route to shoot another video I came a cross this setting, unfortunately they were almost finished, but decided anyway to shoot a sort video in addition to this video: • Potato Planting | Deu... where I got a lot of questions what the 'white stuff' is all about.

Years ago here in GA USA I remember sludge from the municipal waste water treatment plant being sprayed on farmer's fields. It was only after millions of gallons had been applied that they learned the sludge had too much heavy metal in it and when applied to hay fields it made the livestock sick and passed through to the milk. It didn't take long for that practice to stop and numerous law suits were filed. I said all that to say that the sludge was applied with Terra Gators.
It was tried up in wa. State years ago also. Same result,lawsuit shut the tool farmer down.cost him plenty!

@@kilum7299wapnują pole. U nas na kontynencie stosuje się drobno zmieloną skałę, rozsiewamy pył na pola. Tutaj używają roztworu wapiennego. Opryskują pole tym. Pola się wapnuje by utrzymać odpowiedni poziom pH. Ph odpowiada za między innymi : strukturę gleby, przyswajalność składników pokarmowych przez rośliny, utlenianie związków organicznych i nie organicznych itd.

@@mirkojurina5255 powder of course why would you want to draw 1000 of litres of water around needlessly?....fuel must not be expensive enough yet
why lime to fields?
It's good for the soil. If the pH is extremely low and makes the next crop yield very high or higher.
Now you can see that patch from space.

+Ed Macfarlane It gets sprayed on top and left. Particle size is around 1/10th that of standard AgLime so makes its way into the soil quicker and deeper than normal.
First time I've seen lime be applied, looks like it would wash away with the first rain. I wonder if they work it in afterwards. I wish you made movies, they'd be awesome.

Probably to get enough product on. I'm guessing he was spraying a lot of gallons per acre so that would require him to go slow or change nozzles or other possible things.

Helps raise the ph of the soil.
And adding Ca to your CEC

I think that they do it to make the ground less acidic. Simply to change the pH.
Why do you use liquid lime in the fields? I live in Veneto and I never saw nobody using lime in the fields in my zone

It is used to change the acidity of the soil. Its pH influences what nutrients are made available and what are not, or less so. It has no pesticidal properties, nor is it a manure as such. It only addresses pH. By adding it, acidity is reduced. Crops grow in a range of soil acidity but grow best in their own prefered level. Most like a slightly alkaline soil.

where is the variable rate application?
Easiest way to get variable rate, is to vary the travel speed of the Terra Gator, while keeping the pressure constant going to the nozzles.
