First Metal show I ever went to my freshman year of high school and they headlined played this album in entirety and I’ve been a fan of them ever since. I remember I didn’t have any money when I went and wanted a cd so bad so as consolation they all signed a poster and gave it to me. Great group of guys and absolute giants in the metal world. This is also still my #1 favorite album.
I remember the first time hearing a WtR jam bout 5 years back and thinking wtf is this whacky shite. Next day the song was stuck in my mind so went back and listened to the whole Creature album. I've had an addiction to WtR ever since, they're in my personal top 5s for sure.
Wow, man. Just take a look at what happens over time. Here we are, just ONE year after you posted that comment, and the video (after mine) is now up to 28,025 views. That's fucking awesome, but it should have at least 71,975 more, at least. More people need to know about early Within The Ruins, god damn it!
Back before the generic alien raped their style of songwriting. I miss the rawness this band used to have. Atleast they've kept their technicality but Creatures was just such an in your face album and more of a unique style structure wise. (I still like this band and support them, just not as much)
How can a band so unique and talented put such a terrible, middle of the road, every-day-screamer at the helm!? Imagine what this band could sound like with a musician at the vocals! Someone screaming and growling MUSICAL NOTES rather than hitting three notes over the entire song...
+Fayke Naime Seems to be the formula that Bury Your Dead used to stick to. So much talent with such an average screamer. But BYD lost their talent factor, so at least Within The Ruins is currently on their game.
