I could swear that our SC had just recently decided that presidents can glean that it's in their best interests, on no evidence whatsoever that an election hadn't gone off to their liking, to choose to stay in power no matter the actual outcome/results, no? I mean, since certain folks don't believe that the actual rules count, but do when they've gotten what they'd wanted despite the rules saying that that shouldn't have been remotely possible and because one candidate in particular was spectacularly disqualified. Maybe just a dream I'd had then...
Not only do American Law Makers have entrenched talking points on Energy production. With a particular favorable view of fossil fuel production. There are many with a financial stake in the donations connected to those Fossil fuel interests!
The whole of congress is beholding to all the fossil fuel companies. This is what the people have voted for so I guess they will live with it. Nothing like being in congress knowing that a big fat envelope of cash will be heading your way when you vote in their favor. They laugh all the way to their offshore bank and you get it in the azz.

5:36am: just got a notice from Ground News that it is done: 625 million acres protected. Says there's bipartisan support but criticism from, guess who? The American Petroleum Institute!
You're right when you say that the price of gas at the pumps is related to refining capacity, not drilling capacity. And here's the really funny part as a Canadian 🇨🇦.... Not all refineries are the same. Some are engineered to refine West Texas Intermediate (or light sweet crude), but other refineries are engineered to refine heavy crude like those that are imported from the oilfields of Alberta Canada. Guess what? You can't turn a switch overnight to move them from one to the other. Sooooo.... When Trump imposes his 25% tariff on all things imported from Canada, that includes the price of that heavy crude that supplies all those refineries engineered to handle it. Most of those refineries are going to be states near the Canadian border, or in the Midwest. Guess what Trump voters? Brace for impact because your gas prices are going to go up by 25% at the pump. Do the math....instead of $3.00/gallon you'll be paying $3.75/ gallon. You get the government you vote for! FAFO!
It will likely be more than just 25% by the time it reaches consumers... every step that oil (or any other product) has to pass through, the companies handling it will want to make a profit -- and most of them charge a percentage of the cost they have to pay. So, knock the price up by 25% for an importer, and they pass that 25% plus their own profit markup of the new 125% price to the distributor they sell to... who then does the same when they sell to their retailers... who then do the same when they sell to consumers. Depending on how greedy those companies get, that 25% tariff could easily become an 80-100% price increase by the time it reaches us.
You don't have to worry about trumps supporters complaining about gas prices, if it was 29 cents a gallon they would still find something wrong with that price because their orange jesus told them to complain.
I live in one of those areas, and am soooooo interested in how the red hat mouth breathers are going to blame the dems for it. LOL. Because it doesn't matter they will not change their minds.
Part of Trump's opposition to the North Sea "windmills" is that the law that is causing increased costs in the North Sea is the "Windfall" tax! No windmills involved. The issue is, to define windfalls, "a piece of unexpected good fortune, typically one that involves receiving a large amount of money, such as, in this case a tax on "windfall profits". This is once again Trump not having enough understanding of topics so he makes major gaffs. Considering he has a Bachelor of Science in economics, you'd think he'd understand better. I merely read about economics and wouldn't make that error. (It makes me have a rather cynical suspicion that the reason he won't let them release his college grades is because he didn't bother to learn what was offered.)

Laughed out loud at 'get rid of the windmills'. I live in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Trump has been having this argument for years. Since he bought land and started to build a golf course here, only to discover windfarm plans directly offshore from the course. He argued they would spoil the view from the resort hotel. Challenged local council, got ignored. Took it to Scottish Parliament and they also said they would not stop the windfarm. Hotel and course opened in 2012. He's still bitter, and yet, will open an extension to the course later this year. 😂 The original course had to be replanned when 1 home owner refused to move. He's still in residence. Another has joined his protest, refusing to sell their land to make way for the new course. Oh and there are many more wind turbines out there than when this argument started. 😂

@@whatgoesaroundcomesaround920 I'm to lazy to look up the numbers for that year, but the slogan 'Drill, baby, drill' is from 2008, when US oil production was a lot lower.
Edit: Like many things Trump likes to parrot, this slogan was someone else's idea (and, if you take a closer look at the situation we're in today, makes no sense anymore).
Way to go Sleepy Joe! Thanks, Belle.
These are areas that was never going to be used for oil production. Offshore drilling is extremely expensive and companies are not investing in it now. Same thing when they did their with Anwar province. It's politics.
Sure do wish you would talk about rump trying to take Canada's fresh water, and oil, minerals, copper, and gold attempting to change the international water boundaries. As well as the fact Putin is establishing a large(?) military post at the North Pole. At my age, I see this as a preview to war in North America
Trump dislikes the windmills sullying the view from his club(s) in Scotland
Exactly what his windmill fetish is about. 😂
He's more of a smog guy, I guess.
4:00 - Don't expect intelligence or understanding from those that "roll coal".
As a Brit, I wish him and Musk would keep their thoughts to themselves
thanks, Belle. I really appreciate what you do and how you put the truth up front. I just wish the truth wasn't so depressing.
Excellent, go for it, Joe, doing the right thing!!!
Facts matter not sound bites from politicians 👍🏽
Evening Belle peeps! # 135, pretty good for walking in the door a minute ago. Happy Week all!
I love this channel, I have never heard of the Oil price Information Service, but I'm about to find out
What I was unaware of before.
But I bet, unedited comment, that they rely on OPEC reports and plans that are released publicly. 😊
"Sorry, they lied to you"
seems to be a common theme when talking to MAGA sycophants
It's too late is a lot of gall coming from these hypocrites
5:36am: just got a notice from Ground News that it is done: 625 million acres protected. Says there's bipartisan support but criticism from, guess who? The American Petroleum Institute!
😆 🤣 thanks I was waking up to check this. Monday morning info dumps are always fun.
Don't forget what he just did for the steel workers
Not to be confused with the lexicographers' motto - Define, Baby, Define!
.
Thank you,President Biden. Thank you,Belle.😎🇺🇸💙

Goodnight Mary Beth! I hope you stay safe and warm! Sleep well tonight!
Thank you Belle. Thank you Biden.
I hope this works. I wouldn’t put it past Trump and his catamites in both Congress and his rogue court to circumvent this.
Jessica Denson seems ready to talk about another opportunity for gift giving...
Thank, Kevyn, for pointing this out - in case someone is interested in the harsh reality.
Oh no all the oil rigs on the east coast..... Oh yeah there arent any
Thank You Belle and Team for the News Highlights and Observations. hopefully we have and environment after the trump🤡 Show.
Let's stay home on election day, that will save the planet./ SMGDFH
I hope Dark Brandon keeps on signing Executive Orders and nudging this and that until 11:59 a.m. on January 20, 2025. I hope Dark Brandon also changes his mind about attending the Icknaguration of *president Felon.
Thank you President Biden, Belle Thank you for everything ,
“Up where they walk, up where they run, up where they bake away in the sun…”
Okay, seriously this is awesome news. (The no-drill zones that is)
It's so fine, refine.
Wait....
“… or whatever….”
Miss Belle~ It’s the little things in life, and you do the little things rather well. 😉 Thank you very much.
Thank You, President Biden.
Ok, maybe it's a little petty but go Biden!
No it isn’t. No healthy ocean, no life
Not petty at all. Biden is still president, and as a citizen of this country, I expect him to continue doing everything in his power to support and protect the land and its people. Trump may act as if he's already president, but he's not. He's merely a rampaging troll. It's Biden's responsibility to keep working for us right up until the minute Trump is sworn in.
trump is obsessed with windmill. biden should put htem on whitehouse property before he leaves
Excellent info thank you Belle.
👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Love the hanging t-shirt.
The original course had to be replanned when 1 home owner refused to move. He's still in residence. Another has joined his protest, refusing to sell their land to make way for the new course. Oh and there are many more wind turbines out there than when this argument started. 😂
Thank you for the update on the good news from Joe Biden
Thanks for your usual excellent commentary
The largest refinery in the US is owned by the Saudis. Bought during a republican administration.
Yes, in 2017. Now let me see, who was in charge then?
I learn so much from you. Thank You
