When I was younger, in my twenties, I drove the shitbox cars and had to deal with police all the time. It was a nightmare. They definitely target people that look poor. They figure they can find something, and you're not hiring a lawyer.
I had the same experience in my twenties. As soon as the gas tank cover fell off my old car I got pulled over for having no license plate lights. They always followed me around too.
I drive a shitbox rusty truck. I just moved back to a town I lived in a decade ago. The police are all new and they constantly follow me. I'll be sitting in my driveway, in my truck, having a smoke and they will pull into my culdesac and slowly drive by me and stare me down. I live in Canada, and the RCMP are the police where I live. They are moved from their hometown to another province. This is done so they can oppress the community easier as they will not run into their friends or family.

I spent SO MANY YEARS afraid of cops because I HAD to drive without insurance to GO TO WORK. I was FUCKING POOR trying to SURVIVE sweating bullets anytime a cop came behind me or if I needed two more paychecks to afford to update my tabs, so I could go to work, to be poor.

Broke people work the hardest, my co-worker last year worked had a 1,000 in overtime just to make payments on his Dodge Ram 150 pickup truck and his overpriced home, I think I only had 20 hours of overtime all of 2023 and I feel great.

So true. I think I had that response years ago. Took me a while to decorate my place too and I figured it was because I was working so much all the time. But it was also kind of because I always thought "I probably won't be here that long". Then rent kept going up.
This lady I use to work with got 24 tickets by the same cop over two weeks. He stopped her about 15 times during rush hour. The judge threw out all but two of the tickets.
I would have gotten a pre-paid lawyer and sued him for harassment!

I actually knew someone who had a brother that worked for the city and the cops told him that they actually do look for junkie cars.And they said you wouldn't believe how many drug bust they find. I guess the whole idea behind it is that if you're driving a junky car and you have a tail, light out or something, then most people should be able to afford a bulb or afboard basic things for the car and they just assume that if you don't have that then You're spending the money on drugs. And there's a good percentage that probably are spending their money on drugs instead of taking their money and keeping up their car. But in some situations like the girl it's actually just because they don't have a lot of money which sucks for her.
Cops will pull over a POS car IF it is deemed a hazard on the road. Broken side mirrors, speeding on donuts, shit hanging off. Its called standard of care.

I'm a realtor and have lived on credit cards and paid them off once commissions hit, so I wouldn't say my current situation is me living above my means. It's the economy that is the real issue. 3:00 I'm in the US military and this recruiting crisis is getting pretty bad. Being in the military, the pay and benefits are decent but the worklife sucks. They're having a hard time getting people in and the ones they should want to keep are getting out. Also, they're lowering the standards to get in. I'm going on 10 years and even im thinking about getting out. I was gonna try to grind out the next 10 years to get the pension but I just cant do it. So, im waiting for my contract to end.

Yeah, as a contractor, I have almost hit lines even though I had them marked out but not they’re not that accurate, but my thing is the government wants to always take take take more more more. The safety thing has gone out of control. I’ve worked in underground construction and mines and if you take off your safety glasses to rub your eye, you can get fired. It’s out of control or lose your multimillion dollar contract, if you are a self-employed, underground mining contractor if you take off your gloves, you can lose a $3 million contract. It’s ridiculous.

I had a pos car for a year, bought it from a friend of my brother.. I was pulled over by 3 cops at gun point as well they came up ripped the door open and were surprised to see a tiny 5ft female..lol.. Apparently the car used to belong to a high profile meth dealer..😂 dude was in prison for life and they were wondering how he could be out driving around.. I sold the car a couple of weeks later because it was terrifying. I warned the next person who bought it though. Lol

Bc of leaving early to protect my physical health, I now have financial stress. Had no idea I could be this broke. Rent, groceries, utilities have SKYROCKETED here in California like I’ve never seen before ever. 10.99 for a dozen eggs. 7.99 for a loaf of bread. I read that only 20% of ppl will own a car by 2030. The list goes on but nuff said.

I'm one of those wrinkly old man still working at 78. I am doing it part time for something I like. I am legally homeless so I could see my body decided I would not be able to work till I die. Sooo...2 years before I retired my business.I purchased a shuttle bus for my home till I die. So heads up, I am living my best life. Right now I work in a desolate rv park in Utah for 4mo in the most beautiful surroundings I've ever seen. Sure, there are hardships but, all I have to do is turn the key.

Hey Jack. Love your chill channel. I'm 55 and I was able to retire at 53. Got divorced at age 35. Was I a financial genius. Hell no, haha. But, I was smart enough to never re-marry. I lived like a broke single guy and invested in index funds like a madman. I was surprised at how quickly my financial situation turned around. I thought I'd never dig out of my child support and student loan hole, but I did it. Good luck to everyone out there...I know it's a lot tougher these days.

I don't know how it is elsewhere, but when I was younger (this was 35 years ago!), I was pulled over for not stopping for a red light. Now understand me here, I was from out of town visiting friends to watch Wrestlemania... Whatever number it was at the time. I went out to get a pizza for us guys, but before I left a buddy of mine was like, 'Don't f*ckin' speed - AT ALL - through Mechanicsburg, man. The cops are assholes...'
So, I'm paranoid, driving through this town, when I get to an intersection. As I passed THROUGH the intersection, the light turns yellow then RED in a hurry. Boom. I'm pulled over for going through a red light. In spite of the fact that I presented photos PROVING that I was already over the white STOP line when the light turned yellow; and in spite of the fact that the cop COULD NOT HAVE SEEN WHEN I ENTERED THE INTERSECTION, due to where he was parked - the judge found me guilty.
He bangs the gavel, looks over at the smug cop and says, 'Hey Bill, how's your wife and kids doin'?' And in a flash I responded directly to the judge and said, "I guess I had a chance at real justice, eh?" Both of them looked away. I was broke af at the time, driving a f'n rusty-ass Ford Escort.
Yeah sure, back the blue when they're worth backing, but F*CK Mechanicsburg, PA for putting that judge and that cop in charge.
I was a passenger in a car , driver came to full stop at the 4 way stop. We turn left and a cop pulls us over for not stopping. I went back the same afternoon and filmed for an hour from the vantage point of where the cop car had been parked. You can’t see because there are shrubs in the way. Brought the footage to court- all the people there were fighting the same ticket at that intersection, all found guilty. Then we showed the video to the judge. Ticket dismissed. Now how many more people were forced to pay?
Meanwhile there are robberies and shootings daily.
In new mexico they let guys who hack a guy's arm off with a machete walk free after a few weeks in jail, I know because I work in the jail, and no this did not even make the news, the victim dropped all charges the DA did not take up the case

My husband was a utility locator - Call before you dig. What he did was go out and locate the under ground utilities and mark them. If you call the liability is on the utility. If you dig up a utility without calling you get to pay for the damages and repairs. That mean for the supplies and most extensively is those wages for the crew that fixes it. Let it be after hours or on a weekend and that is overtime pay. Union contracts often require double time. When hubby retired a decade ago that would have been 30 to 50 dollars an hour doubled on overtime per employee. I recommend calling.

I had a job where we had to redo spindles on a deck bc they were to close to each other. Dude said someone could put their fingers in there and break them if they get pushed bc it's close to each other. My boss said if someone puts their fingers in ther and breaks them that's their fault. Lomg story short my boss ended up loosing money that job bc we had to work a whole day for free bc the city didn't like it. That had nothing to do with digging.
