I started with 3rd, 4th edition and ice age cards. It was year 1995. I have collected all cards from 3rd, 4th edition, vision, mirage, tempest, invasion and Ursas saga. Still playing about once a month with friend and almost daily with arena nowadays. Reseantly updated my physical decks with new cards and that has been really nice journey.
Hey Filipa, I started playing as a Teenager around Mirrodin and OG Kamigawa Block, then stopped and learned Magic new from the beginning in 2017/2018 with Ixalan. By the way you was part of one of my personal favorite Magic moments - you was commentating my Match with Death and Taxes at RCQ Ghent this year. Hope you have nice holidays! 👍🏼
I started playing in 1996 during Ice Age block. Played through Shadowmoor, then took a break until Return to Ravnica brought me back. Played until Battle for Zendikar and also took a break. I returned during the Rivals of Ixalan. Another 6-month break after War of the Spark. Then returned during Ikoria. I've been playing regularly ever since and do not see myself taking a break anytime soon as I have a dedicated commander playgroup to keep me distracted if I ever get burnt out by the standard meta. Always love your decks, and happy to know a little bit about your Magic history too 😄
i remember buying Mirage packs when I was 10-11 years old and making really bad decks using cards from Mirage and Tempest. I've taken tons of breaks over the years. I played more during Mirrodin and Kamigawa, then Lorwyn. Then I took a long break and started playing during Thrones of Eldraine. Took another break during the pandemic and started playing again this year.
I think you’d really love Leyline of Hope in this deck! Makes all the weenies get big and threatening very quickly! Plus just ramps your life production insanely fast. Would probably cut the Knight-Errant’s for it 🤷♂️
I was in graduate school at the very, very beginning of the creation of MTG (yes old fart). It was fun, but I didn't think at that time it would have staying power. LOLOLOL
i played my first game of magic in 1999 or 2000, i dont rememebr which, couldnt play much seeing i couldn't afford a deck, so couldn't play consistently at that point, around 2012 i had my own deck and played nearly daily, never really needed a break, the group i was playing with were relaxed aside from a few. didnt have people to play with after that point so didnt really play actually paper cards, tho i played the MTG games on steam, now i just toy with mtg online from time to time. im not good at it sadly, not a strategic thinker

I also lost to a gates deck because I didn’t read the damned card 😂
I’ve played for like 20 years with a lot of breaks
To be honest count: 3 (in the first match) I stop counting after
