Its funny how the mammoth has now become the ideal desert and volcano mount. If you live in the hottest place in the world just go to the coldest one and drag a giant furry beast home with you, what could possibly go wrong?:P
The water spray isn't just as nice visual, it also refills your hydration and cools you off if you're hot.
Puts out fires too, I hear.
And waters your plant plots
so does that mean mammoths with higher capacity is better than lower ones? i found a 150 mammoth but capacity is 86% only

5:00 you can set the mammoth or any creature to a tame group so that when you set to that tame group, when you do whistle commands, only the creature(s) in that specific group will heed to those whistles. For example, if u set the mammoth to taming group 4, and you set taming group to 4 with the radial wheel for orbit camera, only the mammoth will heed to your whistles
Does the drum work on preventing a Yuti from scaring the mammoth being ridden? If so, bringing a friend on a mammoth might help with Yutis a lot.
It blocks it, but doesn't remove it, so you need to have the buff going before you start the fight with the Yut.
um the new stego with the hardened plate mode can gather wood u didn't know that, phlinger. the heavy plate mode gathers thatch and the sharpened mode gathers berries with a weight reduction :)

@@SevCaswell it took around 80 something rocks and a lot of deaths but learned my lesson.
@@waynereibsome I managed to succeed but only because it got stuck under my neighbours base plus it was only around lvl 50
Ark was my first survival game and it took a few times playing to actually getting into, now I’m like o I’ll be a high level in a hour or two and the Dino of my choice under my control
@@SevCaswell "only" bro how do yall have such level ,the dino I find are level 20 max ,I have a 25 lvl Raptor and I was like "finally"
I want to add. If u have enough to make the curry consider making some. I can’t remember the recipe or name of the curry but it keeps u from freezing for 300 secs one. Regardless of what u wearing or not wearing. You will only achive the first degree of freeze and not the 2nd where u loose hp. Pretty easy to make. Fur armour in my opinion sucks cos u ain’t gonna have it until u go to the ice places so make curry until u get enough fur for fur armour

I finally tamed a mesopithicus, gave it a name but keep talking to it and referring to it as phoo

Wondering when or if you are going to do a tutorial on making an Explorer Note run for really fast XP and leveling up? Some might consider this a bit of a cheat but I think anything that can be done in a vanilla game is not a cheat. There are a few examples of this already on YT where people have gotten to a level in the mid 60s in an hour or less, sometimes a lot less(real time) on the original Island Map.
There are many advantages to this because you can get all the building engrams up to metal(including greenhouse parts), all the armors up to flak, all the metal tools and most needed firearms(including tranq darts@lvl 62) as well as many of the most useful early and mid game saddles, especially the RG saddle @lvl 62.

WC implemented the drum mechanic exactly like I expected it. Sadly that means it's just boring button smashing.
They should implement at least different "songs" that require differently timed clicks. A bit like beat saber.
Multiple drums (number keys) would be neat as well. Anyway, not gonna happen.

Can you test or add this in last night me and a tribe mate took on alpha broodmother with a mammoth in our army while my tribe mate was hitting the drum on the back the broodmother jumped at us and she got one shoted off the back I ended up finishing it with the mammoth still alive but yeah anything to that like it seams pointless to use a mammoth if you can insta die on the saddle drum ??
I know this is a really late reply but the drummer takes full damage back when they first released this creature’s tlc later on they made the drummer reduce 40% damage as people mentioned getting one shot

Have heard that the water spray either eliminates or reduces fire damage ....have not figured out how to test that yet.
phlinger sometimes got fire wyverns at his base over the river on scorched earth so maybe agro one and kite it to the river where the mamoth is waiting?

can you do an abcs of kibble? answer common questions like when to use kibble or if the highest teir kibble works for all tames or just 1s that have it listed as preferred?

To answer your question though - Yes, just create the highest tier and it will also work as a replacement for all the other kibbles. hint: Deinonychus work well .. :)

can you do a abc of breeding ravagers? i dont know what to look for on the stats.
and right over my lake on the island is a alpha raptor and all i have is a pack of ravagers. he dosent have any pack members i killed them beforehand.
Health and damage. If you need to kill an alpha raptor, the best way is a large carnivore such as a rex or a baryonyx is you are near water. If you need to use ravagers, just bring a giant pack of ravagers, all with saddles, and after a long while, they can kill it.
Another way that you can kill that Alpha is to use your Ravager to kill something, anything, then lure the Alpha raptor over to it. It will try to eat it, but be unable to. At this point you can just sit on your ravager, a bit away and pelt it with Arrows or bullets. Alternatively, if you can craft a zip line, set one up to about a head above the Raptor in height, then whilst on your Ravager point he crosshair at the line and press jump. You'll jump up to it, and be out of the Raptors reach, but still close enough to get it's attention. Again, at this point shoot it. You could even combine the two methods if you prefer. Whichever way you choose to do it, good luck man .. ;)
Specific benefit in terms of stats for the ravager, is they have a high base Weight value (and reduction to a lot of Aberration materials), this can be great early game but generally speaking not worth it at the breeding stage of the game (and kinda removes it from being required on a travel/scout role).
Role is important for stats, more important then what creature your breeding, below the roles best suited for a Ravager.
Combat Role = Health -> Melee -> Stam (Stam only if ridden, same level priority otherwise).
Travel\Scout Role = Stam -> Health -> Weight (level priority Speed -> Stam -> Health -> Weight only if needed to carry you).
Item Transport Role = Weight -> Health -> Stam (same level priority).
Stam is only really required if your riding it, its highest on the travel role since that is intended for solo scouting\exploration without a pack. Transport can also be used for extra base storage, or portable storage when carrying it with a Karkinos.

Would the mammoth be feasible in boss fights for the debuff "roar" much like the yuty's roar so your creatures take less damage. Imagine having both a yuty and now a mammoth backing your army in boss fights.
It would work great, if it worked at all. It seems to be broken, at the moment. Something no one seems to mention, for some reason.

I tried looking up how to shoot from the saddle and I cant figure it out. I am on PC.
Only certain tames allow you to use weapons on them. But just use the hot key for what ever you are trying to use and it should pull out the weapon or tool if allowed. You can look it up on the wiki what tames allow it.
@@tylern666 I look up the tames and im on the right Dino but when I hit the hot key for my bow nothing happens. I cant figure out why.

My only argument for castoroides is that they're MUCH faster
The only thing I don't like about the mammoth is it's tusk like why does he have another tusk on his tusks but everything else is great and his attacks

Mammoth he have levels 250
Doesn't help players that haven't played ark if they don't know what level is the saddle so they can unlock it most of the videos are like that not very helpful trying to help my friend get back into ark survival he's in another country maybe tell the love of when you unlock the saddle in the videos when you're taming would help a lot of players
