It might not be obvious to someone on their first watch of the film, but I tried to capture a lot of things for educational purposes (for example, just because someone is a respected authority, like a psychologist in this case, doesn't mean everything is right in their mind. We never know what might be going on in someone else's head). I also pointed out how harsh reality can be sometimes (depression and the inability to even take care of oneself after losing a loved one), and so on! I talked about this a month before the movie's release on the community, but the movie was supposed to be even sadder than it ended up being! (Star was supposed to kill herself... 😭) Not that I intentionally wanted to kill off all my characters, but with Star, it made the most sense, considering that after Jax's death, she completely lost everyone she had ever loved..
@StarnMoonYT I think this ending is sadder because while she’s in her own mind and happy as long as she stays there but if she ever escapes her mind she likely won’t ever be a functional human being again she’d be sad and miserable for the rest of her life but if she’d killed herself while that would be darker and sadder short term she would of saved her self from a life of misery and mental strain

It might not be obvious to someone on their first watch of the film, but I tried to capture a lot of things for educational purposes (for example, just because someone is a respected authority, like a psychologist in this case, doesn't mean everything is right in their mind. We never know what might be going on in someone else's head). I also pointed out how harsh reality can be sometimes (depression and the inability to even take care of oneself after losing a loved one), and so on! I talked about this a month before the movie's release on the community, but the movie was supposed to be even sadder than it ended up being! (Star was supposed to kill herself... 😭) Not that I intentionally wanted to kill off all my characters, but with Star, it made the most sense, considering that after Jax's death, she completely lost everyone she had ever loved..
@StarnMoonYT I think this ending is sadder because while she’s in her own mind and happy as long as she stays there but if she ever escapes her mind she likely won’t ever be a functional human being again she’d be sad and miserable for the rest of her life but if she’d killed herself while that would be darker and sadder short term she would of saved her self from a life of misery and mental strain
