Mother in law was wrong to stop dil from attending brothers party. An ordinary visit and party are very different from each other.
If that bahu was not there who would have prepared coffee or lift heavy suitcase? Daughter or the son or mother would have done it so why not now? She is doing her regular duty that is cooking everyday is good enough. Making daughter or daughter in law work for 2 people is not fair. In some families daughter in law does not even want to do basic work like cooking, caring for child or caring for in laws that is horrible.
