  • A time lapse of the entire process of creating The Harriet Beecher Stowe Bronze Sculpture by Brenda Councill in Mandarin, Florida, (Jacksonville) where she had a winter home she enjoyed for 17 yrs., arriving in 1867. You can view this sculpture in the Walter Jones Historical Park in Mandarin, Fl. A City of Jacksonville Park. Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote "Palmetto Leaves" , a collection of stories about her time in Florida. She owned orange groves, began the first Freedmans Bureau, Founded the beloved Church of our Saviour and the landmark, Mandarin Community Club which is still standing.
