How to draw a Parallel Line with a compass.

- In this quick video, I will show you how to draw a parallel line. This method will work in any direction, as long as you use the furthest points of both arcs. You don't need to use the end points of the line. I used AB just for the example. Anywhere on the line will do just fine, and the further you can space them out, the more accurate it will be.

What if the lines are different
Why not measure 50mm away from both ends of the first line, then draw a straight line from each point?
You can do that if you are measuring at a perpendicular angle. But the idea in this video is to use your compass.
OK
This is so terrible. In euclidean geometry to draw a line you need two points. You dont get two points with this. There are a few straight edge and compass constructions to draw a parallel line, none of them as bad as this one

This is NOT a solution. You don’t have two points through which you draw the line.
The two points are the points of tangency of the arcs. So yes, it is a solution
@@moosecone Finding a point of tangency is a problem in its own right.
Not for people that know basic math. Best of luck brother. @@dkolosov
