Treloar trade happened. He won 0 premierships since and Collingwood went on to win a premiership within 3 years of his departure. I’d say a good long term trade
That was my first thought too. Fremantle also got Trent Croad as well as McFarlane in the deal, and to rub salt into Fremantle's wound, Croad went back to Hawthorn 3 years later K
The Tom Harley trade was maybe the worst trade for Port, because he went on to become a 2 time premiership captain and Port got 3 games out of "Adam Morgan" in return.
And Port chose him as their 1 x 17 year old over Matthew Pavlich, who went unselected and would be one of the hottest prospects in the country 12 months later.
Chris Groom for Andrew McLeod is forever talked about in South Australia. Thompson and Jacobs were also utterly one-sided pickups for Adelaide but McLeod is legendary. Feel that Port Adelaide paying so little to North Melbourne for Jason Francis-Horne being a #1 pick in very recent years was also a steal.
I have for some time now considered Fremantle as the worst underachievers in the AFL era. Lucas, Lloyd & Mcleod are three names that solidify my opinion. When Chris Fagan arrived at Brisbane the culture of letting good young talent walk out the door stopped. The rewards of that policy have been realised.
Thats Jordan McMahon trade wasn’t a bad trade really in reality, because of McMahon Richmond didn't finish last and ended up with the 3rd overall pick in the draft which became Dustin Martin and to be fair he had a way better career than Ward has had to date and I doubt that will change.
Fremantle trade for Hawthorn Trent Croad trade has to be one of the biggest blunders. Freo ended up with nothing, Hawks setup their premiership dynasty.
Collingwood was able to break even on the Treloar debacle in 2021 trading in Patrick Lipinski for a mid 40s pick. Maybe not as good as Treloar’s best, but he’s 4 years younger, lest injury prone, although has had some shoulder issues, a premiership player, and a very important player in the team structure.
@@Comatosedpeanut I never again want to hear Collingwood complain about players leaving ever again, or players' lack of loyalty. Treloar and Grundy both wanted to stay at Collingwood, but you pushed them out the door because you didn't want to pay them what you agreed to in their contracts. You pushed two players who wanted to stay, out of the door mid-contract because of your own poor accounting, yet then complain when a player leaves you mid contract to another club for more money. Oh, the hypocrisy.
What the hell, this video is just littered with errors. The pronunciation of Treloar, Tom Bellchambers’s photo instead of Scott Lucas, saying Jordan McMahon kicked the winning goal against Melbourne, when it was in fact Richard Tambling (which btw meant dusty came to Richmond, so a big win for the tigers)
Still wondering why essendon off loaded him (a fringe player at the time) and kept players that were clearly at the end or on the downside at best. Honestly I could question nearly every draftee in the last 10 years. Hard to be a member when they seem to be a boys club rather that a competitor
@@clintoneddy2860he wanted to leave, it was either get some value from him or he walks in free agency. He was out of contract and wasn’t gonna resign, Essendon offered him a 2 year deal

@@avgfree21 They have improved, but they still make some howlers. Bolton is going to be another HUGE flop imo. How did you say Treloar incorrectly in 6 different ways
treyloar
treelore
Hahahahahaha absolute muppet
@1:56 pretty sure that's big Tommy Bellchambers, not Scotty Lucas
can't see Lucas beating up Cam Mooney

Adam TrayLore has been a good pick up for the Bulldogs
