They use drivers to keep the company afloat basically u work then they deduct every they can to pay as little as possible! Lease purchases are mostly BS! Work a good company then buy a truck like I did. You will get treated differently because u can leave and take your truck. Good luck

Ya know your the 2nd guy ive ran across who has left Hurricane. I watched Fargo last week, and im trying to make up my mind. Back in September 2020 i was in a big truck accident where another big truck hit me from behind. After all this time they came to a settlement, and now ive been looking at companies to go back to work. A fella named Dallas earlier this year has been emailing me non stop. Stop playing the lease purchase game and go to the bank layout your business plan and get a loan and start making those payments. You'll be way happier in the end, but them payments come around every 30 days, just remember that.

Wouldn't trade it for anything. Been out here 30+ years. Driven for alot of companies looking for my place. Eventually I found my place. After all I've heard about hurricane, none of the companies I ever drove for were that bad, however, 2 of them went out of business due to greed. Greed will get ya every single time. It's nice to have nice looking equipment, but looks don't make the truck reliable. I don't know everything, but I know enough to stay alive.
All I see on these statements is $ you made for the miles you put in granted the rates seem to be little low for cross country Reefer business & the expenses from fuel , truck expenses, misc expenses that go along with the job of either owing one or trying to own one . Wouldn’t be any different if you went out & bought one yourself, you would still have the same outcome other than few or couple expenses where u didn’t come out of pocket. You can’t look at the weekly outcome because that’s normal when ur trying to run ur own business, over head expenses until you pay off your truck but still will have fuel & maintenance expenses regardless. To many people quitting because they think they should be bringing home that gross amount but it doesn’t work like that.. I was always told driving for different owners that I’m making more being a company driver than the truck owner because after all the truck expenses & then my paycheck they’d sometimes be in the red. That’s why back in the day companies would run you cross eyed & illegally to make a small profit to be able to keep you a job … Just my opinion after 32 years with my ass cheeks glued to a truck seat & still trucking through all these new laws , technology & other BS the industry has seen. Here's the God honest truth about Hurricane Express. I worked there and never got a dime out of my paychecks due to them keeping the money for tires, road use taxes and mic charges for the trucks expenses that seem to take up the rest of each transaction that ruck ever turned for a load. So you always stay needing trip money just to live off of. You know the deal Mr. Owner operator leased to a company who owns the truck to keep you broke. So you have to work even harder to stay alive and never mind trying to raise a family off the truck money too. Because there isn't any left by the time they do all the paperwork you might even own them. How about those terms to work for? Now that's the truth I worked for them and ran Truck # 1 for years. That is how long I have known them. Back when they ran for Momma Sioux out of Tontitown AR. Running to LA up to Salina and back to New Bronx, N.Y. at the Market. if there is a lawsuit I wish I could get half my money back that I earned when I was there for more than 5 years, off and on when I would help them out from time to time. It was so bad I used to have my wife do the log books for them and team their off duty drivers with on duty just to be able to log the trips they turned with a single driver on those trucks. Sometime I had to have three drivers on my truck to legal the logs for all the miles I ran for them each week. My wife made more doing log books then I did on the road. I should have stayed home doing log books for them I would have made more money. As far as Loads I got my own, because H&M bay would run you and have you loaded with LTL frozen freight. With more drops than you could do for two weeks on the road and wanted you on the opposite coast by Friday so you could load back to the east coast or west coast for the next week of running to do it all over again. So I found my own brokered loads. So I could run my own schedule. That was the only good things I had going for me on their truck. If you want to see the wife you had to take her because it would be months before you could ever think about going home. So we would live on that truck for months at a time, most of the time it was more than three months before we would even think about trying to get by the house unless you pulled some Tyson loads that were lucky to get a buck a mile for. You know the drill if you ever pulled Rocky Mountain freight before. Tysons' brokered loads. It all sucked for pay. So I would get my own deals. Eddy and Caden wouldn't even ask me what I was doing out on the road I dispatched myself on my truck I was supposedly buying from them. Which by the time you could ever pay it off it would make you broke on repairs for parts and labor unless you did the work yourself. Which I did. After all you are an owner operator leased onto them. It is your responsibility to keep your truck running and up to DOT standards or it is your ticket not theirs. And your speeding tickets if you cannot run fast enough for their dispatchers. Or pay late fees for missing appointments no one can drive as fast as their dispatchers schedule you for their deliveries. Trust me they don't care about you or your truck being legal either. I could go on but I digress. By the way, this company has been this way since day one and it will be that way till they are outlawed from the Trucking Industry by DOT and ICC. or the Federal Government somehow. Last trucking company I would ever work for in the world. What's that tell ya?
And everybody bath bad mouths the union..... This is the price you guys pay when you think the unions are bad. When in retrospect, Everybody is actually working on your side and making sure you have a good wage, Good benefits, and ahealthy retirement All of these Irregular route carriers take so much advantage of a poor driver that has a good heart. They'll twist and ring you guys out with a wet towel till there's no water left in it I've been seeing it since in 1980s... The regulation was one of the worst things I could ever happen. That's prior to that, You had union drivers and independents that were true independents and there were no-nonsense independents. That everybody was paid a fair wage. The transportation industry these days with these irregular route carriers nothing is in concrete nothing's written in Stone. It's not a good way for you to provide for a family and to make a person happy

I can hear your sensor coming on so many times because that guy is going slow. Next time if you are mad at a company and want to express yourself park and release all your hate and anger. Here's a little bit of advice if you want to drive them big large cars pull up some money and go buy your own truck Don't lease purchase and don't work for another company I've been doing this since 1996 raised two kids three grandkids made damn good money and always had large cars so I'll tell you just like I told my son you start least purchasing get ready to bend over but most people think that's the easy way to go
I worked there earlier this year. Left still being owed over 15,000 miles. When I tried to talk to Brian about I got completely ignored. They tried to tell me I didn’t understand my deductions. I asked wtf do deductions have to do with my miles. Ran up to and over 4k miles a week and they would pay me 1650 miles. Parked the truck and walked. Not to mention I had to drive myself home in my damn car for my home time

You should look into a company out of Denver called Denney Transportation. It is real legit good money as a company driver. No bullshit for the most part. If you love in Vegas this company will work well for you. Full disclosure? I just left there to go back to car hauling. But I'm seriously thinking about going back after the holidays because it is legit dude. I just can't get car hauling out of my blood. It's hard after you do it for a long time. You should look into a company out of Denver called Denney Transportation. It is real legit good money as a company driver. No bullshit for the most part. If you love in Vegas this company will work well for you. Full disclosure? I just left there to go back to car hauling. But I'm seriously thinking about going back after the holidays because it is legit dude. I just can't get car hauling out of my blood. It's hard after you do it for a long time. They have Cali only on the board but you gotta chain. Good luck brother. I'm just trying to help guys out here. Been doing it for 20 years out here so I want the good guys to succeed.
