Wow this is great I played for Erdington and Saltley for 5 years and always though our team 76-81 was one of the best winning the West Midlands final twice and Runners up once. Pete Mortiboys was our manager with Chris Peatfield his assistant I never knew that the class off 64 won the English schools trophy . What an achievement 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Its ER DING TON I am sitting here now btw my son matty played for the dizzy for mr mort and matt latham and never missed a game they never reach the heights of these boys but they did win a county cup erdington and saltley is one of the smallesr associations in the country so what an achievment ❤
Yes. aggregate score 4-3. Nine members of the team came from Washington Grammar school, only Coin Todd from a Chester-le- Street school and Peter Holbrook, who scored all 3 Chester-le-Street goals in the final were not from Washington Grammar school.
@@keithfelton Superb Keith! I'm glad you told me you were the right back...that lad who gave away the penalty at the beginning could've broken the fella's leg with that challenge! I'm in my 60's so still appreciate football was a contact sport but blimey....
We were in the same class, remember being at this match, if memory serves me correct, 9 of the Chester le Street team came from the Grammar School and you were the youngest on the team
What’s with the Edrington? I recognise a couple of names Colin Suggett went in to have a good pro career, and Cowans? Could that be Gordon ‘Sid’ Cowans of Villa fame? I know he was from the North East.
Edrington?
Thanks for posting this, Keith. Was great to meet up with you and a few of these lads at Nev’s 90th bash.

Fantastic stuff. When 15 year old boys looked 45 yrs old. Proper football

Not sure about the date. Sure the Fulwell was covered in 1964.
Erdington is a bimingham suburb. Used to have a lot of irish people living there, hence some good Irish music
Is this Keith Felton Washington Grammar Technical School 1960 - 1966 ?
It is!
Nice to see you're still doing well

Hello again Jim ... still think of you as Musker 😊

How old are these boys at the time?
Colin Suggett who was one of the Chester Le Street players was 15 years old in May 1964.
All red strip with white shorts 😂
