In addition to being assembled in the USA, this carburetor is also flow tested 1 by 1 in house shop. Already done by GM. I love Q-Jets and when I go to any yard I look for the models that have an aluminum plug in that location. All you do is punch out the plug, tap it 3/8x16 and you can seal it with a pipe plug or if you don't tap all the way to the bottom you can use a short set screw. A truck type (large) tire valve tool will allow you to adjust the primary's. It is nice to see new carbs available.

This is backwards, the originals had more cfm. It would be nice if they made a 850 or 950

​@@NightWrencherAll GM big blocks had 850 cfm quadrajets. Every stockish 350 Chevy I ever had I would put headers on it and the quadrajet off a junkyard 500 Cadillac engine on it and it ran EXCELLENT. Plenty of extra fuel for the headers and plenty of cfm...... the good old days.

The unique feature he is refering to is the APT, adjustable part throttle, adjustment screw. Almost all 70's and 80's quadrajets have this feature. What it does is stop how deep the meterng rods can go into the primary main jets. As the name suggests, it only affects part throttle mixtures, which is useful for dialing in cruise mixtures without disassembling the carb to change out metering rods. On the originals, the airhorn needs drilled and tapped for a plug to access the APT screw. I would like to see one of these new ones to check out the quality and calibration. At a glance it looks just like one of the Chinese Quadrajets that have loads of calibration problems, but is three times the price.

From what I'm told, These are flow tested 1 by 1 before being shipped out to make sure that they run right out of the box

Don't like it then don't use it. Though since this is supposed to be new castings I highly doubt they'll have the bad rep of the early Q-Jets.
