@Allaboutbass62 the unmarked vans are the Press Club (Presidential photographers and Historians). The trained fellas are the the ones in the SUVs with the huge antennas and rear widows open for easy eject.
I'm glad President Obama is well protected. I don't care if it cost a lot to protect him because he's our president and we look up to him to lead us. Some people may disagree with me, but if they were the president, they would want to be protected as well.
@Spartan117FS that's a common misconception, a decoy is not necessary especially since they drive so close to each other. it's actually a spare limo and it has been used before. the president has actually gotten out of one and into the other when the one he was in broke down!
Its not an ambulance its a special secret service tactical force almost like swat. In case the president is under fire the team moves in to give enough time to get the president out. They are always suited up and ready to go in all motorcades. It also carries anti missile equipment, extra ammo, and automatic weapons.

his motorcade is so heavily armed even a bomb wouldn't hurt the people inside. The windows alone are 10 inches thick. it even has an oxygen supply in the back in case of a nuclear threat. that is crazy how many people are guarding him
This is pretty much the same size motorcade that Bush 41, Clinton, and Bush 43 have used...local police at the front, then USSS command cars, a couple of "Beast" armored limos, three or four black USSS warwagons, a van for the nuclear football and WH physician, several white vans for White House staff and press corps, the USSS tactical support truck, the WHCA van, an ambulance, and more local police bringing up the rear.

If you look at the motorcade videos where he is in dc they use the new car. IBut I don't know why they haven't used it outside dc yet. I guess they may be waiting on some more to come in.
You still think It'd be easy for someone to disrupt the convoy. Set up some car to like stop in front of the caravan, then have 3 people with 50 Cal sniper rifles take shots at Obama from a obscured vantage point. Or you think some insane fighter pilot/ helicopter pilots could simply drop a bomb, or do an A-10 strafing run on the limo.
Hah; I wonder who was riding in the hooptie minivan directly behind the limos. Some blown out family truckster right in the mix. Lee Iaccoca would be proud.
@alexmiddlen Thank those Americans who make threats against every president and those who have attempted or gone through with those threats. Also, thank the NRA for every citizen still being allowed weaponry that demands security prevention like this.
I agree but it's not JUST protection. There's the protection, news media, presidential staff, gps vehicle (the surburban with the really high antenna, and many more people. Plus, look at the queen, who'd want to hurt a nice old British lady that slightly resembles your grandmother? lol

You can see, they have a "dummy" limousine, so you can't tell which one has the president in it.
