Gorgeous Bar has been many things in years past. Massage, w33d, , laundry, coffee shop, café/shake, but you're remembering when it was The Jungle... as in Welcome to the Jungle- GnR. Next door, Sweeties was The Rabbit Hole bar.
Sportsman- my fave dish is lamb shank. It's delish.

Thank you for the great walkabout :) I would like to mention that Sportsman is located in the PBC condo building where I am a happy condo owner. There is an alleyway tunnel through the condo to soi 13/1 where you come out in the Scandic bar which offers delicious Scandinavian foods. In the alley there is a German restaurant called The Berliner with genuine German dishes.
The Robin Hood tavern is located in a shopping complex called the Pattaya Avenue. Underneath the cinema on street level there is a great very cheap eatery/cantine with Thai food called Eat Street Major foods plaza. Highly recommend.

The swan a great restaurant on soi 13/1 Also I spend a lot of time in Tuk Sports Bar in same soi. All the top matches shown on big screens.

For many years the Haven existed on the vacant block next to the AA Hotel. It was a fine restaurant and the owner Stephen ran the IPGC golf from there. Many fond memories.
@@Alex-uu6vfthe Haven had a fine restaurant. I had several meals there. Sadly, it closed around 2014 or 2015 and was razed to the ground. When I pass through Soi 13 I still look at that barren spot and reminisce about what once occupied that site.

Speaking of restaurants to recommend, try the "Surf and turf Pattaya" restaurant on the beach of Pattaya. Especially at sunset. Fantastic place to bring your LT to.

Hey Trev, The place in Soi 13 that was all boarded up with roof sheeting used to be called the MaMason Hotel back in 2008 when I stayed there. As you can see the Bar was right out on the Soi, to the right was the kitchen, to the left was reception, behind the bar is a nice size pool and is surrounded is two levels of studio/motel style accommodation. At the time of my stay it was owned by a French bloke. If you go on google maps and get down onto street level, the pictures from the google van reach up and over the top of the roof sheeting for a better look. Would make an amazing "Buzzin Lounge II"

I met the Self 13 in 1994. Instead of the Dinasty Inn, there was a small wooden Christian church.
The street was just a small dirt path that was not paved.
The Sportsman already existed as well as the Golden Crab, which faced the Heaven hotel that was demolished and that you filmed as an undeveloped lot.
The building you filmed behind the fences was the MA Maison hotel opened by the French and sold to the Swiss. This hotel did not survive the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was the Haven (not Heaven) hotel I think you meant. Surprisingly the Haven hotel and restaurant was shut around 2014 or 2015, and sadly the bare ground remains undeveloped.
Interesting that you didn't mention Hops at the corner of beach road and soi 13/1. I've been there a few times and their pork knuckle used to be wonderful. This was before Covid though.

The Lek Hotel and The Sportsman have been around for a very long time. I've never stayed at the Lek but I have heard it is good value for the money.

I went to Tarka House the other day, while the food quality was good and you defintely get a lot for what you pay for, sadly the main dish was delivered cold. I sent it back which is something Ive never done before, and it came back luke warm. Not a restaurant that I will be returning to.
Honestly that is a situation I've never heard of before, I get glowing reviews back and was there myself last night and food was quality. Was the owner Pop there?
@@Buzzinpattaya I think so, but cant say for certain, I think I recognised him from one of your videos a while back, but not 100% on that. I looked to get attention of one of the girls serving, just as he walked in and asked if he could help, I told him about the dish, he took it away and it was returned 3 or 4 minutes later, slightly warmer. No big deal, these things can happen sadly.
Pattaya Avenue Centre where the movie theatres are. Further in on the ground floor there is a food court with lots of stalls selling Thai food at excellent prices. The lady making the ฿60 ice-cold smoothies does it very well. Just note that the food court close early. If I recall correctly they close 7 or 8 o'clock in the evenings.
The massage parlours in Soi 13/1 and 13/2 are very friendly and competent. You know what I mean don't you?

Robinhood has a daily carvey special. I never go to the Sunday roasts because it's too much food for me in one seating. They offer a plated roast with all the usual trimmings for 199 baht. Perfect amount and good price

Ive been up and down soi 13/1 and 13/2 a few times. It makes me appreciate Buzzin even more. Background, I'm American, but I'm from Hawaii. So i dont look exactly from the west. I'll walk up and down the soi, and as I enter a bar where everyone is speaking english, I'll get "the look" from everyone. The look meaning, "why are you here;you dont look like us". I refrain from speaking, so they dont know I'm american. Its my litmus test. It will usually be full of people from a specific western country in their country clique. It's not our country; we are all equaly farang. On the other side of the coin, I walked into Buzzin' I was equally welcome as everyone else.

The Sportsman’s Sunday roast/carvery is very good. The hot plate with all you can eat beginning with a bowl of soup (of choice) is for 495 baht.
Had many good times down 13/1 And 13/2 but now i dont think its ever recovered from the pandemic

Bukhao and beach rd a disaster this weekend, took me an hour to get a car back to Jomtien, won’t ride my scooter either too many unskilled tourists driving
