I totally agree with you. Growing up in my childhood we lost two homes in fires. One due to the old kerosene refrigerator when I was 3yrs old and a wildfire in another State when I was 5 both fires we lost everything from photos to clothes and house hold things. This has left me with terror when seeing fires even on the news to this day and I am over 70. My heart breaks for you and the family Jason. Truly horrible, u wasn't aware they had a candle business, who was making those, scented? What could cause it, no power,no propane. I do see venting fan so power must have been there at some point I wonder if there was a hot wire unknown.

I’m so sorry. We had a house fire. My husband and I were staying with my elderly mother in law when our son called around 5 in the morning to say the house was on fire. We rushed there, so thankful our son got out alive and didn’t sleep through it. Yes, it’s just a building, but it’s your building and your memories. Sending a hug. When I was child our family home burned, no one was home. We were shopping & came home to fire trucks & a blazing house. No one was hurt & We lost almost everything- material possessions. Wonderful Neighbors took us in : My parents, 4 kids & my Grandma! My Dad built a new home on the same land & we lived in a trailer as we rebuilt. I understand - to some degree your feelings - I was a child but decades later have my very vivid memories of my 1st home. Ryan was right- you just go on. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

My daughter woke up as the fire started in her room. We lost one of our pets, and our house was partially destroyed. This is the most devastating thing our family has gone through. Jason...this coastal Alabama gal understands the emotional loss a fire can cause. The day after my parents dropped me off at college we had a horrible fire in our home, I lost so many cherished things I had collected as a child in the 50's and 60's, old Elvis 45's, comic books,cameras...my whole childhood things that I certainly could have retired without a care after they were sold. But...my parents survived and they were only "things" but it still was an emotional loss. Sorry you lost your Grandaddy 's building Jason

Many people are struggling to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads, our economy and inflation are horrific, people are really struggling just to live. Hopefully insurance will help them rebuild a brand new one!
Good idea but they need a version with an added profit line to really re-coop the losses. I gave a suggestion in my personal comment about maybe making a memorial decal and charging a special profit margin for candles with that on it. Especially if they are able to salvage any of the jars to use for it. It would be necessary to pay the girls at the shop to make and place the decals plus an extra maybe $2 to pay for an extra new jar with each candle.
@@carlapierle8623 that’s so sad and unfortunate, the building had significant financial value and was being used for a for-profit company, hopefully they’ll weigh it’s benefits and take out insurance on their new building in the future, I really hope it wasn’t arson. The same thing occurred when Jason’s grandfather’s home was damaged by a tornado about a year or so ago, the insurance had lapsed awhile back, so no coverage. I personally don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t carry insurance, especially since they live in a tornado prone region, just like we do here in Texas (plus we’ve had several hurricanes this season that caused a lot of damage and flooding, water finally started receding a few days ago in certain states).
Thank God no one was hurt, so sorry for your loss of property and special memories, but keep the memories in your heart and take small baby steps in your mind. God bless you Jason and your family.❤❤🙏🙏

I found that if you pick salad greens, don't wash them, bag them in a 1-gallon Ziplock bag and use a straw to suck out the air, the greens stay fresh for about a week.

The loss of a family building like that can be very traumatic. We recently had to sell our grandparents grocery store / gas station / garage in Maplesville, Alabama. It was bulldozed and trees were already growing. A lot of memories for a lot of people in the community, all had connections to that grocery store in gas station. Certainly, you'll be able to take this loss as a business expense for your taxes. But that will not make up for the memories.
