I bought a full bottle of Kenzo EDP. I live in a tropical climate and quite honestly am not a fan of standard aquatic fragrances but I can't stop wearing that stuff. I love it. I have worn shorts and polo shirt wearing that fragrance and several women have commented how I smell good. Who knew?
The Salish Sea quickly became one of the most interesting aquatic fragrances I have ever tried. But I'm glad I sampled it, as after a few wearings the sweetness and driftwood or white flowers just weren't for me. I decided if I get a bottle from Untamed, I will get My Greek Lover with its herbaceous and citrus summer vibes.
Horizon holds a special place in my heart. It’s one of two frags my grandfather gave me when I was a child, the other being Pasha. They were bottle shaped decants & I still own them to this day 20+ years later. It’s the true beginning of my fragrance journey.
I’m neither a chemist nor a fragrance expert but I BELIEVE that the “salt” floating around in the Blue Agave is a precipitate. I have a fragrance that has similar sediment and I’ve looked into it and although I’m not sure of the precise mechanism I believe it happens sometimes within perfumery. All signs point to it being safe to use but that, over time, it could alter the overall scent profile of the fragrance, if even imperceptible. Love these series JC!
Hey Tony! I assume you’re referring to Ocean Water rather than Blue Agave. And I know what you mean about precipitate-I have a few fragrances with that. However, I’ve never seen a fragrance with THIS much of it-which leads me to believe that it’s something else. I do believe it’s salt!
I wore Tom Ford’s Oud Minerale yesterday. I find it addictive. I could wax poetic about how i come from the coast and the rugged cliffs. Perhaps pepper it with a bit of viking heritage…..bit it just smells good, kinda calming and mysterious at the same time. Not mysterious in a dark, nor in a festive way, like Noir De Noir. More in a calm, ”sit down and have a cup of coffee” way. I only have a sample but i am considering getting a bottle.
Blind bought the Kenzo per your recommendation. I had the same reaction as you. It smelled different. Wasn't head over heels but I kept smelling it. Its amazing. My brother LOVES it.
Horizon was a recent acquisition for me. Was able to find a bottle produced in the 90's on ebay for like 22 dollars. Definitely a solid pick for those looking for a throwback aquatic vibe from a fragrance.
I’ll def check out that blue agave one, the Tommy bahama is exactly as you described, just makes you feel like you’re on summer vacation, so I’ll give something similar a shot!
Ready for a long story? 😂😂 So I took a break from fragrances for a couple months now because my autoimmune disease flared up and it was affecting my upper respiratory system as well as my kidneys. So everything was smelling super strong and terrible. I was getting nauseated from the smell of my workplace and then I'd try to wear cologne and they all smelled like my work place. I finally just stopped wearing them all together and I even took a break from watching my favorite fragrance UA-camrs, of which you're one Justin. After some chemotherapy and steroids, I'm back in remission and able to enjoy my fragrances again. As the process went, I had to begin by finding frags that I could tolerate. I'm going to tell you right now that Bleu De Channel was at the top of that list. But my usual summer high-heat cheapies all got put to the side. However, I did have a decant of Kenzo Pour Homme EDP and I really enjoy it. I don't like it as much as L'eau Par Kenzo, but man it has been so nice to be able to wear the Pour Homme. To me, it's scent profile is similar to Carolina Herra's Chic and Bleu De Chanel. Call me crazy but they all smell similar. Anyways, I'm glad to be out of the hospital, done with being sick and back to enjoying terrific channels like yours. Love your suggestions
Justin great content as always,i want to thank you,i started buying fragrances jan 2022 and just bought everything (purging as u say),now i understand because of you that you should have only things you strongly like or love in your collection,so i went thru my 300plus collection and have alot that i dont like all that much and wont touch again and going to get rid of them Thanks again for your channel and perspective
wooow i had no idea they were still making Guy Laroche Horizon..this was the first perfume i bought as a student in university 19 years ago. i loved it!!! cheap and cheerful😁
TF Oud Minerale I like - people have to test it on their skin.... def a night time dressed up scent. My summer scents are pretty simple... I'm much more of a fall/winter guy - my summer scents currently: PDM Sedley D&G LB Intense Club de Nuit Intense Bond no 9 Scent of Peace L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Xerjoff Nio That's pretty much what I've been cycling through with certain exceptions at night - I'm just not big on summer scents - I dont hate them but they dont do anything for me. I really like Sedley... wish it lasted a little longer for the price tag (got it on sale though). Might try the Alexandria Fragrance clone of it when I finish off bottle (should be good for this summer and next)
Can’t get Guy Laroche through Amazon from The Netherlands. I am a 70y/o woman and I mostly wear men’s fragrances. Enjoy your videos very much. Thank you!
☆Nooooice J.C. Sweet summer selections! That Horizons bottle design shares the shape of another great frag from are that time , Mikhail Barishnikovs signature scent♡ Current SOTD: Histories de Parfums This is Not a Blue Bottle 1.1 an ambroxy musky orange summer fave! You keep on rockin', and thanx for keeping things fresh my guy! Much respect and appreciation to you and yours, and of course the Stay Fresh Posse ♡☆
I recommend you to try Kenzo Homme Intense EDT if you can. Another polarizing Kenzo. Hard to describe. Similar DNA but more salty and aquatic + bamboo + aromatic + a slight sweetness? I'm still discovering the fragrance.
I was waiting for sean john 3am as an honourable mention, i blind bought it because of one of your videos and was surprised at how nice it was, i went through that bottle very fast
Kenzo eau de parfum is a fragrance that should be wore in more colder days, due to it's intensity, while the new marine is suitable for hotter days and I, believe people don't give much credit to it.
Hey Justin. I really like the Kenzo. Also, the Kenzo edt intense. I have a decant of Oud Minerale. It is different and I have to be in the right mood to wear it. I tried that Horizon a few years ago. Not good on my skin. Thanks for the video.
I enjoy your reviews, and I have purchased about four fragrances recommended by you: Kenzo Homme, Green Lover, Burberry Touch, H24. But today you featured a fragrance that I have from years ago; Horizon. I have both the after shave and the fragrance. I never heard anyone talked about it before you. I’m definitely gonna pull it out. Thanks.
Thanks JC! I always appreciate your content man. Kenzo homme EDP is my pick up of the year thus far. I've picked up some nice designer, as well as niche, and the Kenzo just stands out for me. I think a sample of Lineage is calling my name now.....✌️😂
Could have substituted Amouroud Wet Stone instead of TF Oud Minerale. Its still readily available too and much more affordable. And this is just my opinion but I find it to be a much better expression of what OM was trying to achieve. The new Amouroud White Sands is beautiful too if you haven't tried it. Opens Citrus/floral, almost tart rindy and has some nice Driftwood in the drydown, very nice. Not a run of the mill scent either.
I like ocean water but for me, personally, I don’t often wear it by itself. It’s Just a bit too realistic and if I know I’m gonna be around some ladies I’ll layer it with anything tropical. millesime imperial, VIW. Ect. I hardly ever layer, but ocean water and oud mineral give a LOT of character to tropical frags while layering.
Love these videos! I live in FL so aquatics are for sure part of my wardrobe 😂. I would have you take a look at Bahar from Spirit of Dubai. It is the most beautiful aquatic I own. Once you sample it you will be addicting (speaking from experience)
Hey man, what’s your thoughts on Kenzo intense edt compared to the EDP you highlighted? I have the edt and I kind of like it. Almost like if it was just tweaked…..was a little smoother….it could be great. So was wondering if EDP was that.
Great video Justin, as always! Oud Minerale is one of my all time favorites and one of very few fragrances that I would buy a second bottle of. I’ve been trying to find it for quite a while with no luck (and keeping the few drops remaining in my bottle so I can smell it every now and then from the atomizer 😁)
@alexfranchuk9608 I heard of Drakkar and seen the bottle! This is the first time I seen something else form that company or perfumer. If a person never seen Drakkar, they probably wouldn't know this come from the same house. Actually they look like night and day from each other! You could probably fool some people into thinking that's a higher quality make! I'm looking and I'm like "That bottle! I seen it before!" And Justin showed that bottle a few times! 😂 Still don't know what smells like!
The best part of being a Basic Bro is content like this. New discoveries. Thank you, Fragman, for the content
I guess you could say, now you're "simple *but not* basic"
😆👌🏾
I bought a full bottle of Kenzo EDP. I live in a tropical climate and quite honestly am not a fan of standard aquatic fragrances but I can't stop wearing that stuff. I love it. I have worn shorts and polo shirt wearing that fragrance and several women have commented how I smell good. Who knew?
The Kenzo is awesome. Blind bought it with zero regrets! I don't understand how you can't like it. The first day I wore it I received 3 compliments.
Creed Erolfa is one of my favorites. That and oceania.

Awesome!
You already said it Orto Parisi Megamare, you have to try it
Kenzo Homme EDP “the power fragrance” an absolute beast! Can’t believe how cheap that stuff is! 🔥

@@stayfreshproductions yes that’s what I meant, my bad! Ooh that’s pretty cool if so.

Kenzo Edp is my favorite aquatic scents.. also maybe favorite of all warm weather scents...its amasing..

Good stuff!
Horizon was a recent acquisition for me. Was able to find a bottle produced in the 90's on ebay for like 22 dollars. Definitely a solid pick for those looking for a throwback aquatic vibe from a fragrance.
I love the fresh watery notes etc.
But the woody and salty give some fragrances so much depth.
I wear dark scented KILIAN'S AND TOM FORD' ALL YEAR😊..
But I do get the norm! I just live outside it'
I thought Horizon smelled like sweat when I first smelled it(maybe bad top notes?), but my nose got smarter and now I enjoy it
I’ll def check out that blue agave one, the Tommy bahama is exactly as you described, just makes you feel like you’re on summer vacation, so I’ll give something similar a shot!

@@stayfreshproductions also, man the way you describe the scents… could be the best on UA-cam!
@@michaellee8815 I really appreciate. Thank you 🙏🏾
I adore Oud Minerale !!! It is pure summertime at the beach
Justin, 2nd Soul is one of the best frags I’ve ever smelled, right up there with Ganymede, DHP, DHI, Naxos, Elysium, etc. Seriously, man…bravo.
Thank you so much!

Great video, Versace Pour Homme never fails me on a 103 degrees hot Houston day lol, and every time I wear it compliments galore.
Good stuff!

+1 to ocean water edp and edt. I love how transportive it is.

Wearing Set Sail St. Barts as my SOTD today. Great fragrance for the summer!

Kenzo pour home ! Smells like nothing else which I love
Oud minerale smells like seaweed from Redondo Beach. I’ve always liked this scent.
Is Heeley Sel Marin still around? I remember it as being a quintessential aquatic marine scent.
