I went through 3 of those Ultimate Support mic stands... each lasted about 3-4 months. Thankfully Sweetwater covers everything. But after the third return, I went with Atlas.
Interesting… I would like to know what happened as well? I’ve had these two, the first one for over a year with zero issues. And they get moved nearly every day.
Ultimate Support sucks...there, I said it, have been using Konig & Meyer and haven't looked back since they are insanely durable, and superior construction !!
@@ColtCapperrune first two, boom issues - metal cracked wouldn't stay tight/clutch slipped. No abuse. no over-tightening. 3rd one, the plastic collar stripped, and again, the boom clutch fell apart. This is a common complaint for this model. Thankfully one the second one, holding a Pearlman mic, the singer was able to catch the mic as it went down fast and hard. Again, this was not any over tightening, or misuse. I would just be cautious. the QC on them seems to be spotty.
The Soyuz is great sounding. The solid state one as well at half the price. I never A/B'd them against a reference but I've used the reference in the past and thought it was way too harsh in the highs.
Just stopped the video at the Lauten Atlantis! It’s a stellar mic. It punches really really hard above its weight class. I own two... Get two you won’t be disappointed! Would love an in depth review from you on this one.
Happy New Year. Bought my Auratone 5C ACTIVE’s. Plus bought Avantones Mix Cubes to compare. Lol... how funny! I switched between them both on one of my songs that I finish Mixing on and the WINNER BY FAR was the Auratone 5C. Such cleaner Mids ( actually all it’s Frequencies) Wish I had the Focal Trio’s. Thank You again, George Amodei
That Lautin Audio mic is a modern classic! Such a beautiful thing and it sounds amazing. It looks so great and I think that’s important, it’s inspiring to sing into. I love the Manley too but wow, it’s an expensive unit!
Yes ..I have a Lauten Atlantis 387, Went through the factory and bought a B stock ( paint smudge) saved enough to grab it. This mic is rather amazing. Very happy with it
Hi Colt Happy 2023 Ive been watching your shows for a year or so and It always stikes me that, you I'm sure are working away at getting a better situation, always improving and developing and I'm a broke as can be guy in my fifties, writing and recording tunes that i think are good, but i never let anyone hear them. I was thinking of doing a post about how my tech friend has helped me put my set up together for juat a few hundred bucks, and to showcase my songs. I lived ten years in Hollywood trying to make it and was doing fine till two guys said ''were going to take you back to zero, teach you a lesson and get you out of this country'' [they wanted my Gibsons and Snap on tools and bikes.] - They 5150ed me and bang here i am broke and in Scotland. anyway sorry for the ramble. my question is Should I bother or just have my songs die in my DAW? thanks for all the great, top shelf advice over the past year.
Hi mate, I hope you see this. As a fellow 50 something, pretty much broke musician, I totally feel your story and situation. I write and produce what I think is the best music of my life right now. I feel like I finally have the experience I needed in my 20s to produce decent music. I’ve sat on my songs for so long out of fear of what others may think. However, with the encouragement of friends and family, I’ve decided to release an album of 10 songs. Will anyone listen to them or care? Probably not but I’m going to do it anyway. Release your music mate, I for one would love to hear it!
Thank you so much for the reviews. I didn't hear you mention it or might have skipped it if you mentioned it, are you sponsored by Lauten or is this just an honest real world review?
Hi Colt! What string gauge do you tend to put on your Gibson Acoustic? I have the same one - still haven’t quite found the perfect fit for it! Happy new year from the UK!
What about the duds and mistakes? :) That would also be super useful to know about. My videos are much lower production value than yours, but I'm thinking of making one ala "learn from my mistakes" or "I did dumb so you dont have to". hehe.
Nice video! What about the MAC STUDIO and external hard drives? I use g-raid thunderbolt and also the SSD’s you have and they are suuuperslow with my mac studio. Opening in finder takes 5 seconds sometimes. Never had problems with my Intel MacBook Pro….
Hello Colt , thank you for your amazing video , i want to say i can't acces to the website in the discription , because it's not available in my country ( MOROCCO ) if there is any other way or links may help , Thank you so much and happy new year
Colt, great vid. Fixin to get a mac studio. Which one did you get max or ultra? How much ram? Thanks. I run some large, plugin intense mixes and dont wanna starve out. I have a monster old mac pro with 96gb of ram now, but it hasnt been supported for a while now. Thanks.
Hi, one question, I should listen to music (classic songs from Spotify or other apps) with a binaural frequency (no audio) and tuned to 432hz. I wanted to know if you could tell me the best way to do it, then introduce the binaural frequency "binaural beats" in all the songs (no three-dimensional audio on two channels) and transform music tuned to 440Hz into 432Hz obtaining the most correct harmonics possible and less deviated sound possible than originally tuned to 432hz, if you would be able to give me a hand... anyway congratulations for the channel
you are very good at selling stuff ...by the way that spl big i am not a fan i returned it......there something weird and believe me this is not my first rodeo.... still i pick Mojave Ma 1000 over Lauten audio
Hi Colt can you tell me why you stopped using your event Opals ? can you tell me if its easy to change the orientation of the tweeter when using them horizontally ?

Yes ... I had the same issues. My Atlas is fantastic. Have the Atlas MS25 with PB21X boom.
Happy new year Colt!
Every time I see your new video notification I feel like seeing one of my close friends.
Glad to be in your community!
I A/B 'd the Manley vs the Soyuz 017T...I chose the Soyuz 017 Tube mic.

Glad to see you jump on the Lauren Atlantis train. Solid mic for lots of sources.
Thanks for the gear review and thanks for actually using it over time before the review! Happy New Year!
DUDE, you added a 13" Focal subwoofer on top of those Trio11 ? Holy sweet baby Jesus excuse my french, I can wait for the video ! Hi from Bordeaux !
Happy New Year brother!
My best whishes for you Colt, you are an amazing person!

Getting one to for $1100 second hand. Can’t wait! Do u use it for vocals?
@@jer7255 Yes, mainly. But this mic can do almost anything. You will LOVE it.
For plugins that could compete with the SPL Big, check out Izotope's Ozone Multiband Imager.
Good stuff! I appreciate the camera gear stuff too, definitely relevant and nice to know. Thanks!
Good choices!
I love those IK monitors!!
That Rupert Neve figurine is awesome.
Hi. Colt went with Townsend Lab amazing works with your interface
Are the Auratones really that much different than the Avatones to justify hundreds more dollars?
Try reftones, pensado uses them! I use 3inch tannoya myself
I love my Avantones

I cannot say enough good things about all the good things you can't say enough good things about. ❤️
I demo'd that Lauten.. didnt like it much on vox. It lost ever shootout in my room, against much cheeper mics and comperably priced mics alike.
Same here. Made my girlfriend vocals sound thin and raspy.
Happy new year Colt!!
Thank you so much for the reviews. I didn't hear you mention it or might have skipped it if you mentioned it, are you sponsored by Lauten or is this just an honest real world review?
I had an original DBX160 and gave it away years ago because I never used it. Talk about regret 😢
Hi Colt! What string gauge do you tend to put on your Gibson Acoustic? I have the same one - still haven’t quite found the perfect fit for it! Happy new year from the UK!
Hey, Colt, can you please make a video about your opinion on vintage compressor clones? Like the WA-76, Lin76, etc…
I’m sorry if it already exists.

Hi Colt can you tell me why you stopped using your event Opals ? can you tell me if its easy to change the orientation of the tweeter when using them horizontally ?
Hi Colt, please make explain video about subwoofer. You have one sub or two? Do I need sub for orchestral music? (I work with Focal Solo6.)
Im staring at that thing over your left shoulder… did I miss something or does that look like a focal sub?!
😜😜😜
Mouses: plural for control device.
Mice: plural for animals.
Hi, how do you advise me to obtain music tuned to 432Hz and with a binaural frequency?
Which version of the BAX 2020 are you using? See multiple options on the site... the one with GAR2520's on input and output plus output transformer?
Yes! The "Extra", with 1x GAR2520s input and 1x GAR2520 driving an output transformer
Is album sequencing and tracklisting same or different?
Nice list... WAY too rich for my blood.
First viewer:)
Lmao I can’t believe I clicked on this video one minute within it being posted with like 1 view and already this comment is here
It’s 2023 not 2022.

pretty sure he knows that. He's listing his top gear used in 2022
