He’s definitely saying Drake is a culture vulture. That’s why he did the Canadian accent to show Drake how ridiculous it sounds when he keeps doing all these songs stealing different accents.

Pops is right about people attacking his blackness based on authenticity because there an actual videos of Drake saying the N word with the R at the end it’s been said that Drake uses his blackness when it’s beneficial for his image

@@tk5821You’re a weirdo, nobody said you can turn your blackness off and on. People criticize the cultural aspects of Drake, which gives off appropriation. You can be black and not the culture. Drake a damn Canadian, not a black American raised to know anything about street life, Kendrick is. You could spin however you want to make yourself feel comfortable but I bet you most black Americans from the soil(who aren’t d riders) don’t give af about Canada🍁. Drake has backing, he needs to be challenged by someone from the soil to be discredited. Nobody disrespects because he’s biracial because he’s of the soil, Drake isn’t. It’s just that simple.

Yeah, Drake's a culture vulture. The dude adopts southern US accents depending on what city's vibe he's jacking. American rappers don't even do that.
We also can't forget that he needed those features with American rappers early on to cement him in the culture and now uses any new dude to hop on poppin trends. There's footage of him saying nogger with a hard r. He's imitating Black American culture, his papa didn't raise him in it sadly.

What Kendrick is saying is that Drake uses the culture when it benefits him but when it comes to social topics regarding Black people he's nowhere to be found. Kendrick hinted at it in Saviour's song. Drake becomes mute and always seems to escape those topics. When he says everybody in culture feels that way I think he referring to people in the industry other rappers and media personalities. I'm sure behind the scenes it's a lot of stuff we don't know.

Yeah, Kendrick mentioned the ethnicity aspect, people like ignoring that though. The son in this video recognizes that though, it seems to offend him. But people have the right to safeguard their culture, just like the Caribbeans that make fun of his fake patois.

    • @aadil1998

Yeah the issue isnt that drake is mixed and lightskin, it's that he uses his blackness when it suits him, but you'll barely ever hear him speak up on actual black issues. This mixed with being a Canadian dude who was raised by his white Jewish mother (don't forget drake had his bar mitzvah at 16 lol)? I'm sorry but I just don't appreciate someone raised like that in another country to adopt a whole other culture to sell tunes

    6:09 *BIG FACTS.*
It ain’t just DMX. Everyone thinks his ass is corny but to his credit, deserved or otherwise, his success made him undeniable.
I don’t think most in the industry ever respected him, they merely *tolerated* him and I think even Drake is aware of this, even if only subconsciously.
He is always trying to fit in and garner the genuine respect his contemporaries have accrued over the years.
It’s the reason he has never maintained any real relationships, business, personal, romantic or platonic.
