They're both very good in most cases but when it comes to buttons that are not so straightforward, I would say that the Fingerbot has been more thought out by the manufacturers. They've catered for nearly every case scenario imaginable with the different size arms and you can even adjust how little or far they extend on the app, which is also very useful. Whereas the Switchbot takes a more "One size fits all approach", which will probably be OK in MOST cases but in a small but significant number of cases where there is some sort of a reach problem with the default arm, there's nowhere to go with Switchbot, they don't provide any additional arms, as far as I know. Oh, you can try and fiddle around with the Swithbots position, the adhesive is reusable for a few times, sure, and that might do the trick in some cases but there comes a point where you have to concede that the Switchbot is just not reaching the button consistently no matter where you put it, as I found out the hard way on my PC. The Fingerbot, on the other hand, has smashed it out of the park with its performance for me on that one. I reckon Switchbot ought to consider making their one so that extra arms can also be added, presuming they haven't already, also, they could do with greater adjustability on their app too. Thanks.
I wonder how much pressure/force the units exert, and if there are other products that have a stronger push. I also wonder what the mechanism is -- a threaded screw etc.
I am interested to know that if I dont want to use the hub how many phones can I connect to the Fingerbot at once? Can it only be paired with one device? I want to use it to push buttons on the garage remote fob and give bluetooth access to various colleagues.
I’m not sure if you can pair to multiple phones unless you have the app and same login on them but you can use it without the hub as long as you’re in Bluetooth range
I have Fingerbot and Fingerbot plus. After getting a Fingerbot plus to replace a broken Fingerbot, I was told I needed to upgrade to the "Mesh Hub" app. Once doing that integration through Alexa stopped working for adaprox, and the Mesh Hub app would not pair to Amazon/Alexa regardless of how I tried do it, and Adaprox support became nonexistent. Now I either use only their proprietary app, or nothing which makes the devices fairly useless to me..
Hi, if I have multiple rooms, do I need multiple hubs for switchbot? Shld I get mini hub or the normal hub to do this? Thank you so much for the informative video!!
It will depend how far away each device is from your Hub as they connect to the Hub via bluetooth. I've managed with one hub in a 2 bedroom house pretty easily
Hi, is it possible to control this remotely, meaning i would turn switch from a distance? or this is Bluetooth based only so once i am out of the distance it wont work? Thanks
Thanks for the video; it's nice to see them compared side-by-side! I'm wondering if it's possible to use the app to program repeated presses... Say, a press every thirty seconds or every minute, and have that continue (when out of Bluetooth range) until commanded to stop. Are either of them able to do that? (In my case, I'd like it to trigger my camera while being flown by a large kite. Related, but not so important, is there any significant weight difference between the two?)
Hi, I would like to switch on my computer remotely, not using wake on lan, from the office for example. Are these devices useful for that? Thank you in advance and congrats for the review!
Hey, im considering buying something for the exact same reason (wake on lan doesnt work ). Did u buy any of theese products? If yes , could u share your experience please? Which products did u use?
Hello. Please can you tell us how many hubs do you need with a group of fingerbots. For example: 1 hub per Fingerbot or 1 hub can control several Fingerbots. If so how nay Fingerbots can be controlled on 1 hub. Thanks
I have 5ghz wifi but it has 2.4 as well, will the hubs for the switchbot automatically connect to the 2.4ghz or do i have to mess about with my router settings?
It may depend on your router but I’ve used these with my eero router which has both 2.4 and 5ghz networks with no issues or need to change any settings
If it’s infrared then the switchbot hub 2 or hub mini should be able to do that as long as the hub close to the door receiver. Have you also considered one of these though? amzn.to/3RS3qoq
I’ve not used either of those so can’t comment, I also don’t use Home Assistant but it’s TUYA compatible so if TUYA devices work on Home Assistant then this should
This article suggests that you can as it doesn’t mention a hub support.switch-bot.com/hc/en-us/articles/13070869969047-How-do-I-set-up-the-schedule-for-a-Bot-
It can be done without a hub. You will set up the schedule via the switchbot app. But, if you want to manually press the button and are not in bluetooth range the hub is required. So say you wanted to turn on the A/C from the car on your way home you would need a hub, but if you wanted to have your espresso machine turn on at 8am each day you would not need a hub. I put a switchbot bot on my Door Buzzer for my apartment, and with the switchbot Hub can use google assistant to let myself in without having to use my keys. Hope this helps!
Which robot finger has the highest torque? Yolink finger, switchbot, fingerbot? I need it to flush a toilet handle but the Yolink isn't powerful enough🤔 Any ideas?
The Switchbot doesn't connect directly to home wifi you need a bridge...the same goes for Fingerbot...they do a bridge to connect your bots to wifi too
Im gonna give the switch bot a shot because i bought 4 fingerbot plus' and all of them stopped working within a month. Im very disappointed in there product and they are not cheap
@@MarksTechVlogs no sir I have not I was told that the warranty was only 30 days , how true that is I don’t know and I didn’t buy them directly from adaprox. So I don’t know how that would work

I've got a fairly mushy yet probably quite stiff button on my dryer that I want to automate. I would guess FingerBot Pro is going to be the one to do it, if anything can?!

Neither are huge amounts of pressure but I’m not sure if there’s anything stronger out there either

With both you can control remotely if you have the hub
@@MarksTechVlogswhat kind of hub do you mean?
The Switchbot needs the hub mini or hub 2 from Switchbot to work out of home whereas fingerbot have their own hub
Can switchbot can connect to 3rd party bluetooth hub? (Tuya multi gateway hub) ?
I don't think so, Switchbot Hub only
At 4:43 the app photo misspelled the the word "Down" as Dowm...what else is wrong somewhere else in this product?
It does, I did point that out to the company and they fixed it…nothing else seems to be wrong 😀

Yes

Hi, thanks for this - can you clone the switch to a fob (a garage fob)?
Do you mean use it to push a fob button? Possibly but you’d probably need to create some kind of housing for the fob
I'd like to clone the signal that the fob emits - if works for controllers (tv etc) but not sure if it'll clone a standard garage opening fob?

Blutooth controller or wifi controller

@@alexcaggomg so helpful this is the exact answer I needed as I had the exact same question
does this work with sound activation?
They both work with Amazon and Google voice assistants plus Siri Shortcuts but you’ll need the hubs from Fingerbot or Switchbot for that to work.
@@MarksTechVlogsdo these come with its own hub? Or is that a separate purchase? (If yes, model?) thanks
They each require a hub, with switchbot it’s either a hub mini or hub 2 and with fingerbotnits their hubs. Links are in the video description 😊
Are there any of these device types that work with Smartthings?
I’ve just double checked and Switchbot are compatible with smartthings
well I'm 10 seconds in and I thought I heard "finger butt" so let's see where this goes haha
😂 😂😂 that’s a whole other smart tech product I’m unlikely to review!
do you need the hub for zigbee connection?
You could literally CV glue a tiny plastic square onto the indented button and solve the issue of the switchbot bot not working though...
That’s genius! ⭐️
Do you need superglue or something to stick them to the device?
No, they both come with strong 3M sticky pads
Does these work with apple homekit?
Neither work with HomeKit natively but using a Raspberry Pi and HomeBridge you can get them to
Can the fingerbot connect to the Switchbot hub?
I’m afraid not
will it mess up the system if I use switchbot and tried to turn on manually?
It’ll depend on what mode you have the device on. What’s your scenario?
